Last night at BMO Stadium, Gateway to LA’s Executive Director & CEO, Tajh Henderson had the honor of introducing Adam Burke, President & CEO of the Los Angeles Tourism & Convention Board, at the launch of the second issue of California Leaders Magazine.

Under Adams’s leadership, LA Tourism welcomes visitors from around the world, travelers whose first and last impressions of Los Angeles are often formed in our own backyard. That's why Tajh was the right person to make the introduction.

The Gateway to Los Angeles Property-Based Business Improvement District includes more than 45 properties adjacent to the Los Angeles International Airport, where property owners tax themselves to make their community cleaner, safer, and more vibrant. Founded on the principles of creating a better environment for visitors, employees, and businesses, Gateway to LA takes its role seriously in making a difference in the community!

Last Wednesday, our Gateway community came together for an inspiring monthly meeting featuring the LAWA Airport Police Department and LAWA officials, who gave us an inside look at the incredible behind-the-scenes work powering a seamless travel experience for FIFA teams and fans arriving for the games!

From coordinated security operations to streamlined passenger flow, LAWA's teams shared how months of planning, cross-agency collaboration, and round-the-clock dedication are coming together to ensure every arrival — whether it's a national team or a first-time visitor — feels smooth, safe, and welcoming.

The LAWA Airport Police Department's mission goes far beyond the terminal — their commitment to keeping LAX and the surrounding areas safe and secure is a cornerstone of Gateway LA's broader work as a Business Improvement District. Beginning tonight, Monday, July 6, 2026, expect nightly intermittent traffic breaks on southbound Sepulveda Blvd, between Century Blvd and 96th St, for pedestrian bridge work. Work will take place Monday through Friday, from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. with up to all four southbound lanes closed between 12 a.m. and 4 a.m., with traffic completely stopped for up to 20 minutes to accommodate work.

Plan ahead and keep up to date with all construction projects in and around the LAX area.
