A look back at an unforgettable evening!⚽️🌈

Last week, we gathered for our Salon series, An Evening with Rainbow Labs. It was a night filled with celebration, powerful conversations, community, and a shared commitment to supporting LGBTQIA+ youth.

Thanks to our supporters and attendees, we raised an incredible $17,500 to support Rainbow Labs programming!!!

WE’RE BACK!⚽️🌈

Our Sports Leadership Lab returns this fall, bringing LGBTQIA+ youth together to explore athletics, movement, and careers in the sports industry, all leading up to a project that increases LGBTQIA+ visibility in sports.

Last night, we held an exclusive event at BMO Stadium to raise awareness of our Sports Lab and the incredible LGBTQIA+ youth we serve, as part of our Evenings with Rainbow Labs salon series!⚽️✨

Aside from enjoying an game, we held a panel featuring a OBS youth participant and Paul Ruiz, the Senior Manager, U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Marketing, who has paved the way for LGBTQIA+ folks in athletic spaces.

Roughly 22.5% of LGBTQ+ youth actively play sports, compared to nearly 49% to 68% of youth nationwide. When we created our Sports Lab, we wanted to ensure that all youth have the freedom and access to participate without judgment and be their authentic selves.

And according to our youth superstar, Metzli, “Rainbow Labs allowed me to enjoy sports again.”

It was an evening of impact and celebration that displayed the power of community.🥹🌈

We kicked off Sports Week by slowing things down with a 30-minute yoga flow, giving our One Bold Summer youth the chance to stretch, breathe, and reset before an exciting week ahead.

Rainbow Labs is proud to have supported the Youth Sports For All Act alongside the and more than 50 organizations across California!

This landmark legislation, now signed into law and fully funded, establishes a Blue Ribbon Commission to study youth sports in California and develop recommendations to create a centralized government entity that ensures access and opportunity for every young person.

This is an important step toward a future where every child has the chance to play in
California! ⚽️🌈
