The DOF foundation carried out another enrichment workshop for high school students at King Drew High School. A workshop where medical students from Charles Drew University of Medicine and Science presented a lecture on Anesthesiology.

The components of the workshop consisted on teaching the students about anesthesia, how it works, the procedures, and how to become an anesthesiologist. It was then followed by a Q&A panel with the medical students being the panelists and high school students learned from their journey to medical school. At the end, groups were formed to discuss their SMART goals. A helpful method for guidance and motivation in their journey as high school students interested in medicine.

We thank our coordinator, Bria Mayes, for her incredible work arranging these workshops monthly.

We also thank our medical students in the Anesthesiology Interest Group for their presentation, being panelists, and for their words of encouragement to the high school students.
Medical Students: Dylan Mayarja, Yeab Guracha, Ayser Jama, Mofigin Adegbite, Adebayo Awokoya, and Isaiah Hoffman. All medical students from Charles Drew University School of Medicine.
