🌈💔 With profound sadness, we join the LGBTQ+ community in mourning the sudden passing of Troy Masters, a trailblazer, advocate, and cherished member of the Venice Pride family. Troy was more than the founding publisher of the Los Angeles Blade—he was a visionary who fought tirelessly for truth, equality, and representation. His passion for elevating q***r voices has left an indelible mark on our hearts and our history.

Earlier this year, we had the honor of presenting Troy with the Bill Rosendahl Pioneer of the Year Award, celebrating his extraordinary contributions to advocacy, visibility, and social justice. Today, we remember not only his leadership but his unwavering belief in the power of community to create change.

Troy’s legacy will continue to inspire us to tell our stories, fight for equality, and honor the voices of those who came before us. Our thoughts are with his family, friends, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. Rest in power, Troy. Your light will forever shine. 🕊️✨
