What a spectacular day at SoCal Wienerfest! We’re still finding sand in places we didn’t know sand could reach, and our ears are still ringing from the joyful sounds of thousands of dachshunds expressing their opinions about absolutely everything and at the same time nothing. Between the thousands of people and wieners, amazing vendors, fun events, beautiful weather, we truly couldn’t have asked for a better day. We’d like to give a huge thank you to SoCal Wienerfest for inviting us and putting together such an incredible event. The amount of support shown for the weens was nothing short of amazing. Not only did everyone have a fantastic time, but this was, by far, the most successful fundraising event we’ve ever had and we are incredibly grateful. And then there was the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile. Listen, we’ve all seen people stand in line for Black Friday sales, the latest iPhone release, the newest ride at Disneyland. None of that prepared us for the never ending line to take a photo with our giant hot-dog-shaped vehicle. The weather couldn’t have been more perfect. The beach was beautiful. The crowd was incredible. The vendors were fantastic. The volunteers were amazing. The weens were, as always, adorable, stubborn, hilarious, and completely convinced that the entire event had been organized specifically for them. And honestly, they aren’t wrong. As we look back on the day, we’re left wondering how on earth SoCal Wienerfest can possibly top this next year. More wieners? More vendors? A world-record attempt for the most dachshunds simultaneously ignoring their owners? At this point, anything seems possible. Until next year, we’ll be recovering from our sunburns, shaking sand out of the various cracks and crevasses, and smiling every time we think about a beach covered with thousands of tiny legs carrying thousands of giant personalities.
What a day. 🌭🐾
