5:00pm Parade. 4:45p, meet in front of the Historic Japanese Hospital on 101 So. Fickett St., which will parade toward our stage in front of Otomisan, 2506 E. 1st St. (all welcome to join in the parade)
Presenter: Vice Consul Kaoru Kozawa of Japan will deliver opening remarks. - Japan House President Yuko Kaifu - Vivian Escalante, President & C.E.O., will express our gratitude and offer welcoming remarks to our partner, Little Tokyo President, Michael Okamura, opening remarks. Performances by: Hikari Taiko performance, The Neighborhood Music School, and Rebel’s Outcry.
This year marks our 5th Annual Nikkei Celebration
The Nikkei Celebration is a vital part of our mission to preserve the Japanese American heritage that has shaped Boyle Heights for generations. By recognizing 70 years of Otomisan and five years of our organization's grassroots work, we highlight the enduring resilience of our local history. Our goal is to ensure this event remains an accessible space where our elders, families, and neighbors can come together to honor the authentic culture that defines our community.
