1969, humans first set foot on the surface of the moon, both continuing and spurring forward centuries of human desire to study and explore space. And while we can’t all travel to the moon (yet!), this climbing plant might help remind you to always reach for the stars. Moon flowers (Ipomea alba) are a unique plant with beautiful, white scented blooms that only open in the evenings. Native to North and South America, this flower specifically opens overnight to catch the attention of nighttime pollinators, such as moths, closing by the morning. Appropriately, moon flowers are perfectly suited for being displayed at the National Air and Space Museum, Smithsonian Institution. 🌕✨
