LISC Los Angeles

LISC Los Angeles With residents and partners, LISC forges resilient and inclusive communities of opportunity across America.

LISC LA is one of 31 offices of the Local Initiatives Support Corporation, a national non-profit organization supporting community development in cities and rural areas throughout the country. We serve as an intermediary, building bridges between our local non-profit partners and the resources they need to transform underserved neighborhoods into thriving communities of opportunity and choice. We

receive our funding from banks, corporations, foundations, and government agencies. We partner with community organizations, private developers, local government and schools to invest those funds in affordable housing, economic development, health and recreation, capacity building, and strategic planning efforts. This comprehensive approach builds more resilient communities throughout Los Angeles.

This week, LISC LA hosted the LISC Western Regional Retreat at the Sheraton Grand Hotel in Downtown Los Angeles. This two-day event brought together leadership from our western region offices, including Houston LISC, LISC Phoenix, Duluth LISC (Local Initiatives Support Corporation), LISC Bay Area, LISC San Antonio, LISC San Diego, LISC Twin Cities, LISC Puget Sound, and LISC Hawai'i.

During the retreat, we engaged in strategic visioning and learning about focus areas set by our national office, sharing best practices and insights with our counterparts. Our collective mission remains steadfast: to work with residents and partners to help forge resilient and inclusive communities of opportunity across America โ€“ great places to live, work, visit, do business, and raise families.

Our retreat culminated with a reception that included our key community stakeholders and business partners. We were also privileged to have executive leadership from the Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) national office join us. We were delighted to host our colleagues in the great city of Los Angeles, and we look forward to future gatherings!
