Dottie has surpassed our expectations...and we couldn't thank her foster home .spritz.of.chaos and enough for making sure she is getting all the care she needs.

As a reminder, Dottie came to us with Masticatory Muscle Myositis (MMM) - a painful, immune-mediated disease in dogs where the immune system attacks the specialized chewing muscles. We didn't know if we could save her 🥺.

Thanks to our wonderful vet care , her autoimmune medications are working, allowing her more movement in her jaw and, most importantly, the ability to EAT!

We are now working to lower her steroid to see if we can ween her to just one autoimmune drug. Once we have the right treatment combination, we hope to get this sassy "I know what I want" girl to her furever home.

Her furever home MUST allow her access to pillows...this queen won't settle for for the foot of the bed😂

🩵 BISCUIT PUPDATE 💙

Although it is baby steps, Biscuit is starting to thrive in his foster home. He started off as a very shy guy, but has quickly warmed up to the security and love his foster mom is showing him.

His foster mom describes him as very sweet, gentle, and wanting lots of pets. He plays great with his fur-siblings too! He is VERY treat motivated and doesn't like to miss a meal.

Although Biscuit is showing signs of confidence in the house, walks are a completely different story. These are very scary for Biscuit and he becomes very nervous and stressed.

Biscuit's double cherry eye and BOAS surgeries are pending while we raise the money to get these scheduled. His neuter will also cost a little extra since he is a cryptorchid boy. All in all, his medical bill will top $6k🥺....an amount we are working to raise.

For now, Biscuit is safe and being very well cared for by his foster home. We look forward to making him feel much better! He really is just a darling man 🥰

Donations towards his care can be made at the link below or through our IG bio linktree.

THIS IS JUST ONE MORNING WORTH OF EMAILS....this does not include the rest of the day, social media DM's, or shelter requests‼️

Rescues were created to supplement the shelter system NOT to become a dumping ground for private owners. But guess what⁉️ That is exactly what pet owners expect, & how they treat rescues😡

When you bring a pet into your home, that decision comes with the responsibility of caring for them for life.

❤️‍🩹 They get sick? Have the financial means/planning to pay for their care
🏠 You move? Find housing that accepts pets
🖤 Divorce? One of the two adults takes the pet
👨‍👩‍👧‍👧 Have kids? Make sure your pet is properly introduced or provide training
👩🏼‍💼 Work long hours? Your pet is OKAY staying in their home while you are away

Look, we understand there are some legitimate life-changing circumstances that necessitates having to give up your pet. We are 100% there for those moments.

WHAT ARE WE NOT OKAY WITH❓ Pet owners who turn to rescue as a dumping ground due to their lack of accountability, responsibility, & planning. Taking your dog to the shelter is almost a guaranteed death sentence because they are busting at the seams too😢😡

Rescues do not have unlimited financial resources; so don't tell us you don't have the money to care for your pet. NEITHER DO WE and we do not qualify for pet insurance or any pet line of credit. Vet care costs us nearly the same as it does you, and we are caring for more than 20 Frenchies at a time.

Our funding comes from private donors & constant fundraising. We DONATE our time to run our rescue; not one of us is paid. Our foster homes are not paid; they save Frenchies because they love the breed. Our transport volunteers use their own gas.

STOP BRINGING PETS INTO YOUR HOME unless you plan on keeping them for life; for better or for worse.

We are sharing a list of potential financial resources for those who may need the assistance:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/u/0/d/1Sf2BlVABub-BQKBSjy-yfUhWgq5xDsyVR1AKEihaVOs/htmlview?pli=1

Now go out there and hug your pet - because nearly all of you reading this understands a pet is family; FOR LIFE 🐶❤️

This just happened 🥹!!

Another day, another red-listed Frenchie saved from our shelter system. Please help us welcome Benny to SCFBR💙

Benny was rescued from SEAACA today; his euthanasia date was drawing closer and closer.

Why was Benny red-listed? For a skin condition, that's it😳

Our shelter system is SO full that dogs are being killed for health issues as minor as skin/eye/ear infections, upper respiratory infections, and other treatable medical conditions. Shelters just don't have the space!!

Benny is safe because of our incredibly dedicated volunteer team. A special thanks to for dropping everything this afternoon to pick up Benny with less than a couple hours notice 🫶. And thank you to his new foster mom, Terry, for giving Benny a soft place to land today.

Can't wait for Benny to have the bestest new life!!

Donation for Benny's care can be made in the link below, and through our IG bio linktree:
