Love and support for our friends at 💙

At Beyond the Board, we spend a lot of time in the street. Skaters, cyclists, pedestrians, artists, kids, elders. We feel everything that happens out there. Safety is not an abstract idea for us. It’s personal.

That’s why our partnership with Waymo feels so aligned. Their commitment to safer streets has genuinely made our community feel more confident showing up, moving, and being seen. Especially here in Santa Monica.

This past December, Waymo showed up in a big way by supporting our annual Holiday event and Toy Drive - the Santa Cruise. This event brings hundreds of people together to celebrate joy, movement, and connection in the streets. That kind of support matters. It signals care for the community, not just the technology.

As someone who has personally experienced how fragile road safety can be, I don’t take this lightly. We believe in building a future where innovation and humanity move together. Where streets are safer and more welcoming for everyone, not just cars.

We see you, Waymo. We appreciate you. And we’re grateful for the role you’re playing in helping make our streets safer, more joyful, and more human right now.

The community came together for a powerful day of service and unity in Los Angeles during the MLK 2025 Volunteer Festival from 🎉

This festival served as a powerful reminder of the importance of giving back to others. Thousands of volunteers showed up to work on various projects and activities - from live performances, assembling skateboards, creating art, making blankets, and providing donations for fire relief. members came together alongside volunteers from all walks of life to assemble and decorate 200+ skateboards, which will later be donated to school and community programs in Southern California 🛹 ☀️

Yesterday wasn’t just a day of celebration - the festival was a call to action, and a reminder of how there are so many ways for us to show up and support one another. A huge thank you to for leading our Vibe Ride team and volunteers, and to for providing the boards for us to share 🛹✨

📣 LA COMMUNITY 📣 Come join us on Monday the 20th in partnering with community volunteer organization for their MLK Volunteer Festival! Let's give back to our community through the power and creativity of skating 🤝

We are in need of 10-15 signed volunteers to help set up and decorate 100 skateboards and gear to later be donated for community and school programs!

🛹 These board painting volunteers MUST be able to commit to:

🗓️ 1/20/25-on a MONDAY (a work holiday for some, not all)

⏰ ~7:45am -> ~4:00pm

⏰ Event runs from 10:00am -> 3:30pm

We'll need people familiar with setting up boards as well as people who want to contribute their creative energies in decorating.
