🚨 Extreme Heat Alert for Encino! ☀️🌡️ Is your family prepared for the rising temperatures?

As extreme heat continues across Encino and the San Fernando Valley, taking a few simple precautions can help protect you, your loved ones, and your neighbors.

Knowing the signs of heat-related illness can make all the difference. If someone shows symptoms of heat stroke, call 9-1-1 immediately.

Looking to better protect your home from wildfire?

, a nonprofit dedicated to wildfire preparedness in Southern California, offers free home fire hardening assessments to help homeowners identify wildfire risks and ways to improve their property’s resilience.

One of the biggest advantages? Their recommendations are objective—MySafe does not sell fire hardening products or services, so the guidance is focused solely on what’s best for your home.

EPOA Board Memberr John Arnstein and Courtney Kearns have worked with MySafe on both individual home assessments and neighborhood preparedness efforts, and have had positive experiences.

While LAPD’s West Valley Division reports a 60% decrease in burglaries compared to last year, recent incidents remind us that staying vigilant remains important.

A recent burglary was reported in the Nance/Louise Avenue neighborhood. In a separate incident, LAPD officers conducting a surveillance operation in Encino arrested three burglary suspects after they allegedly broke into a home on the 17000 block of Quesan Place. Officers recovered approximately $300,000 worth of stolen handbags and jewelry, which were returned to the homeowners.

EPOA has requested additional information from LAPD regarding the status of criminal charges and will share updates as they become available.

We encourage residents to remain alert, report suspicious activity, and continue looking out for one another.

The proposed 60-foot Verizon cell tower at the Encino Lake Tennis Club has been delayed until August 28 to allow for additional public review and comment.

EPOA requested more time for community outreach, citing concerns about fire safety, public safety, and potential alternative locations. The Encino Neighborhood Council’s Planning & Land Use Committee also voted not to support the project at this time pending additional information.

⚾🏆 History has been made!

For more than 70 years, Encino Little League has brought together young athletes, dedicated coaches, volunteers, and families. This season, they achieved something truly special.

Four All-Star age divisions captured both the California District 40 and Section 2 Championships—an unprecedented accomplishment for the league.

Now, the 10s, 11s, and 12s All-Star teams are headed to the California State Tournament.

Congratulations to every player, coach, volunteer, and family who made this incredible season possible. The entire Encino community is proud of you.

Good luck at State! Let’s Go Encino! ⚾💙

Thank you, Encino!

Because of the incredible support from our community, the First Annual Pancake Breakfast raised more than $20,000 for Fire Station 83.

We are grateful to everyone who attended, volunteered, donated, and helped make the event such a memorable success. It was wonderful to see neighbors, families, and first responders come together in support of an important community institution.

Special recognition goes to EPOA Board Members Donna Stillo and Patti Jo Wolfson, whose leadership and dedication helped bring this event to life.

Together, we continue to show what makes the Encino community so special.
