Our guest on episode two of The Youth Against Prejudice Heroes Podcast is fashion designer and anti-bullying activist Egypt Ufele. She’s an inspirational 16-year-old who shows how determination helps young people overcome prejudice and become an example for people of all ages. She was terribly bullied in school because of her weight, which was caused by a medical condition. Instead of being defeated by her mistreatment, she turned to fashion by creating her own inclusive clothing line. Started when she was just 14 years old, Egypt’s Chubbiline clothing lets people of all sizes look good and feel confident. She made such an impact that she debuted her collection at New York Fashion Week, the youngest person to do so.

Egypt has also continued to work as an anti-bullying activist. She’s spoken in schools on issues of bullying and recently started her own Egypt's Bully Free World Foundation dedicated to ending psychological and emotional bullying.

Thank you to Vista Del Mar Child and Family Services for featuring our executive director Señor Amor and the History of Hip Hop program they hosted recently. We're looking forward to returning with our History of Hip Hop program in 2022 and introducing a new program to the residents and students at Vista Del Mar next month!

Music is one of the most open avenues to inclusion. For that reason, we brought ’s 12-week History of Hip-hop curriculum to Vista to enrich the cultural connections residents and students have with music that speaks to them. Thank you to Señor Amor and the entire Youth Against Prejudice Team for sharing their mission to inspire young people to become ambassadors of change.

is a global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity to transform communities and the world.

On November 30, individuals worldwide will come together to tap into the power of shared human connection. Will you be one of them?

We are deeply grateful to members of our community who have supported us over the past year as we have developed our programs to help young people become leaders and ambassadors in the struggle against prejudice and racism. In 2021, we successfully presented our first pilot program and taken steps to build our organization.

2022 will be a critical year for our mission. As a new nonprofit, we don't yet qualify for many of the grants more established nonprofits rely on. As a start-up nonprofit just completing our first year, we depend on the generosity of individuals who want to support the creativity of young people, while working against prejudice and racism in society, to cover our operating and program costs. In the next two years, we will be working to secure grants and other fundraising opportunities, but we need individual support to get us through these next critical couple of years.

GivingTuesday is a movement and the single biggest day of community generosity each year. No matter the amount, each contribution makes a difference. Every act of generosity counts.

This GivingTuesday, please consider joining us in empowering and supporting young people, creating new opportunities for them, and unleashing their energy and creativity to defeat prejudice and racism.
