A day in the life of a street vet. 🐶🐱🙌

No exam rooms. No perfect setup. Just Dr. Matthews, the Long Beach team, and pets who needed care right where they were.

No judgment. Just help. 🧡

We’ve arrived in the Bay Area! 💙

Thanks to the support of our Title Sponsor, Fetch Pet Insurance, Project Street Vet’s new Oakland team recently spent the day caring for dogs and cats living in a local RV community.

Led by veterinarian Dr. Kimberly Carlson and RVT Heather, the team provided free veterinary care, vaccines, and essential supplies, meeting pet families where they are. This helps ensure they have the resources they need to keep their companions healthy.

This is what the future of Project Street Vet looks like: local veterinary professionals coming together to bring street veterinary medicine to the communities that need it most.

We’re grateful to Fetch Pet Insurance for helping make this expansion possible and for supporting our mission to keep pets healthy and families together.

No judgment. Just help.

Atlanta is showing what it means to meet pet families where they are. 🐾💙

Since hitting the ground running, Dr. Kristen, Rose, and the Project Street Vet Atlanta team have become a true part of the community, expanding access to care through street outreach, community clinics, and our new mobile veterinary unit.

And they’re not slowing down.

The team is now working to create a safe place for pets to stay while their people work, attend appointments, and take steps toward greater stability, helping remove yet another barrier for the pet families we serve.

We’re proud to see their work recognized on the news and even prouder of the trust they’re building throughout Atlanta.

Bravo, Dr. Kristen, Rose, and Team ATL. This is what showing up for your community looks like. 🧡

“He’s my family” 🐱❤️

Dr. Kristen & Rose met Joel and his new kitten a couple years ago. After Joel had been homeless for some time, he received housing and also a new family member. He loved his little kitty as you can tell from the video, he could barely watch as she got her shots. He was incredibly thankful for the care provided. Unfortunately, we heard the very sad news that Joel passed away recently. 🥺🙏🏽

His sweet kitty was taken by a volunteer and is happy and healthy.

Thanks to team ATL for providing some care and love to Joel and his family.

🌝💡 No light? No problem.

Dr. Randy and our Dallas-Fort Worth team worked into the night—caring for pets under lamps, seeing some deserving pets one exam at a time. And this wasn’t the first time.

Street vet work doesn’t always come with perfect conditions. But dedication and compassion can go a long way.

If you want to help fuel more nights like this in DFW, donate through the link in bio. 🧡

No barriers. Just bringing care and compassion to the Big Apple. 💙

We believe every pet deserves access to veterinary care. And every pet parent deserves to know they’re not alone.

That’s why our New York City team comes together to provide exams, treatments, supplies, and support with kindness every step of the way.

Because when we remove barriers, we make room for healthier pets, stronger communities, and the bond that keeps them together. 🐾

“PSA for anyone that hasn’t had a cat and is considering getting one” 😸

She said she wasn’t a cat person. The cats respectfully disagreed.

While doing outreach in Atlanta, Dr. Kwane met a pet parent who admitted she didn’t expect to fall for this little feline family. But cats have a way of moving in, taking over, and acting like it was their plan all along.

Now? They’re family.

Anyone else have a similar cat love story….✋🐱🧡

A new volunteer. A few pets who needed care.

Meet Dr. Lisa. 💙

After 18 years as a veterinarian, Dr. Lisa wanted to use her skills in a new way. At her first Project Street Vet outreach, she met pet families where they were and experienced what street vet work is all about.

Afterward, we asked if she’d do it again.
Her answer?

“Definitely.”

Street vet work is simple in theory: show up, earn trust, provide care.

Welcome to the work, Dr. Lisa. 🧡

🎉 We reached our $25,000 matching gift goal!

Thank you to everyone who donated, shared, and supported our Dog Days of Summer Campaign. Because of you, more pet families experiencing homelessness and housing vulnerability will have access to the veterinary care and essential resources they need.

Today is the final day of our campaign. There’s still time to join us and help keep care within reach for even more pets and the people who love them.

🦟 Fleas and ticks can cause more than an annoying itch.

For our final Dog Days of Summer pet tip, Dr. Becky Nostrand, a volunteer veterinarian with Project Street Vet San Diego, shares why flea and tick prevention is an important part of keeping pets healthy.

These tiny pests can carry disease and lead to serious health concerns. Preventative care can help protect pets before those problems begin.

For the pet families we serve, access to flea and tick prevention, medications, and routine veterinary care can often be out of reach. That’s why our teams meet pets and their people at the point of need with the care and resources to help keep them healthy and together.

☀️ There’s still time to make twice the difference this summer. Through Friday, July 17, every donation to our Dog Days of Summer Campaign will be matched up to $25,000 thanks to Cielo Foundation.

Help us keep care within reach. Donate at the link in our bio. 🐾❤️
