🚨🐱Cat Parent PSA: loose strings are not as harmless as they look. Kristen Schmidt, DVM explains why things like string, ribbon, yarn, dental floss, and thread can be dangerous if a cat chews or swallows them.

Cats love to play. But these items can cause serious internal problems. When cats swallow string (or anything similar), it can cause a foreign body obstruction in their intestines - often requiring surgery.

Keep loose strings put away. If you see loose strings on toys, blankets or even clothing- cut them off. Choose safe toys. And when in doubt, call your vet. Let’s keep our kitties healthy and happy!

Puppy love in Dallas-Fort Worth.

Dr. Randy and Terrie met a pet parent with a very large, very affectionate pet family—and they made it pretty clear how much they love her.

Every pup and mama in her lap. Kisses on her face. Following her every step.

Even though pet mom is currently short on resources she was doing everything she could to care for her pets. Dr. Randy & Terrie were there to provide a little help with the support.
And a spay for mama!

Since the beginning of the year, our Dallas–Fort Worth team has already cared for over a hundred pets through community clinics and street outreach—building relationships, earning trust, and bringing veterinary care directly to the people and pets who need it.

Supporting the mission is one thing. Getting out there and experiencing the work firsthand is another. 💙

Daniel Suárez has been an incredible supporter of Project Street Vet, helping raise more than $74,000 to bring veterinary care to pets and the people who love them.

This summer, he joined Dr. Kwane and our team for a day of street outreach, meeting pet families, hearing their stories, and lending a hand as care was delivered right where it was needed.

We’re grateful for people like Daniel who don’t just believe in the work, but show up for it too.
And when he said, “We’re going to see each other again,” we heard you, Daniel. 👀❤️

Meet Dr. Kristen.

If you’ve followed our work in Atlanta, you’ve already seen her in action—meeting pets and their people with patience, skill, and zero judgment.

She is exactly the kind of veterinarian this work needs: calm, compassionate, capable, and always willing to show up where care is missing. (*She gives her personal phone number out to everyone she helps btw)

As Project Street Vet grows, so does the team of people leading this mission on the ground.

And Dr. Kristen, Rose and her team are one of those voices. 🙌❤️

When Dr. Kristen and Rose first met Lori earlier this year, they met a woman who loved her pets. Her two dogs and three cats were her joy.

She was hoping to get her cats spayed, but access was the barrier.

A few months later, our Atlanta team came back with our mobile unit— the Spay Shuttle—and were able to provide that care.

That’s when Lori shared more of her story. A story that unfortunately far too many people understand.

Cancer. Medical bills. Homelessness.

A reminder that we rarely know what someone has survived, what they are carrying, or how quickly life can change.
We’ll continue to lead without judgment and a willingness to help 🧡

New Community roots are growing in Philadelphia thanks to Fetch Pet Insurance.

Another city we are proud to be able to provide services to pet families.

Shout out to Dr. Emily, Dr. Kelly, and an incredible team of volunteers!

Every new city means more than a location on a map. It means more pets receiving care, more families feeling supported, and more moments of kindness.🐶🐱

Our senior pets give us years of loyalty, comfort, and love. As they age, they may need a little extra support, a little more patience and love.

In Long Beach, Dr. Lisa & the team treated a sweet older pup named Alvin James who needed help with his eyes, and his person was so grateful to have someone show up for him.

Old dogs are special. And we’re grateful every time we get to help one feel a little better. 🧡
