We were invited into some of the homes of the largest aboriginal tribe in Costa Rica, called the Bri bri tribe. We learned some of their traditions passed down over ages, and kept alive by living off the grid, away from the influence of society.

I have been wanting to visit Punta Mona for years. I was watching from a far in Los Angeles, watching their feed, gathering ideas, and getting inspired. 💚🙏🌱

is an 85 acre, organic, off the grid, beach front permaculture farm in the Manzanillo wildlife refuge, in Costa Rica. 🌱🐒🦥🇨🇷

Recently, we were lucky enough to tour the land, and document Punta Mona, even though at the moment it is closed to the public, due to regulatory issues with the CR government. It has been around since 1997, founded by Stephen Brooks, and today is one of the biggest permaculture farms in Central America.

People from all over the world come to Punta Mona as an education retreat- to learn farming, gardening, regenerative design, botanical studies, herbalism, re-wilding and so much more!

We hope you love this video! It was not meant to be a Finding Nature's Heroes video at first, as there was nobody really there to interview. We initially went for ourselves to tour the land, and then decided to include it. Maybe later, when the facilities reopen we will go back and interview some residents, and maybe the founders!

This is Stacey Pizzuti. She is our next Hero of Nature! We went to visit her and her husband Lou in Maine, and they were kind enough to show us around their property and introduce us to their version of raising honey bees 🐝 by hollowing out logs and putting them up in trees!! She allows them to beee (no pun intended 😝) she doesn’t take their honey, and she allows them to roam freely to forge for food and pollinate as they wish. The Honey Bees are thriving!!
