Baby podcaster me in 2017 🎙️

When I was a high school teacher I was part of and then led the team that guided seniors to create projects that used their art to serve their community.

That's how I viewed my first podcast .mami a library of interviews about all facets of parenting with the rare disease Primary Sclerosing cholangitis, an autoimmune liver disease.

In the eight years since, I have delved into so many aspects of podcasting from scoring to stort editing to podcast cover art and what kind of premise makes a strong podcast.

I love all aspects and have used much of my knowledge to support others rather than produce my own (my last podcast would take me 20-30 hours an episode to edit 🤪)

I am so excited to bring together my podcaster, art educator and photographer selves for my session on podcast cover art.

This is how I felt when connected me to Bonny Taylor at Film Solutions.

She started sharing about how she thinks about printing, photogrpahers to follow, what she as an insider in the industry knows that emerging photogrpahers may not.

I didn't leave without asking her if she would do a workhsop for the Our Latina Lens community. She suggested sharing through a conversation with fotografa and curator . We set it for a one day in the future.

That day is Saturday, Nov 16th at 11am at Amiga Studio in Los Angeles.

When I moved to the West Coast, We all Grow was one of the first communities I joined.

During the pandemic their programming, especially office hours, allowed me to forge deep connections and be inspired by some amazing amigas. It was soul refreshing to see them in person.

WaGs philosophy that when one grows, we all grow aligned with my own values of community over competition.

I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to attend Amigas in Business and get to connect in person, sometimes for the first time, with Amigas from all over the country.

Connect in community and learn about resources available to Sacramento photographers.

Have you ever learned about a resource and thought, why didn't I know about this sooner?

Sacramento we got you.

In collaboration with the gallery manager at we will meet up for a casual lunch at Azul, then go to the Viewpointe to learn about their offerings and how we can engage with the space.

We will then walk to Mike's Camera where the manager will share how they serve the photo community as one of the last physical photo stores in the area.

Photographers of all skill levels and specialities are welcome.
