The Maryknoll/Miriam College Alumni Association is proud to announce the release of The Legacy We Carry: 100 Years from Maryknoll to Miriam, a special coffee-table book that celebrates our alma mater’s storied century in the Philippines.

The book features contributions from Palanca Awardees Carla Pacis and Leah Eriguel, along with many more distinguished writers who have generously volunteered their time and talent to tell the stories of alumni who embody MC’s heart and values.

Every time we tour abroad, one of our favorite parts isn’t just the concert.

It’s meeting so many Filipinos who now call another country home.

Ang dami naming nakakausap after the shows. Some have been away from the Philippines for 5 years… others for 20, 30, even 40 years.

Pero nakakatuwa…

Pag tumugtog na ang isang APO song, parang may switch na biglang nag-o-on.

For a few minutes, wala munang California, Canada, Australia, Dubai, o London.

Parang lahat tayo… nasa bahay ulit.

Napapaalala sa amin na minsan, hindi lang pala musika ang inuuwi ng isang kanta.

Kasama rin ang mga alaala.
Ang pamilya.
Ang barkada.
Ang Pilipinas.

I will be sharing the fascinating journey of pearl cultivation—from the nurturing of the gold-lipped Pinctada Maxima oysters, to the delicate process of grafting and harvesting, which takes up to five years to complete. I will also share the inspiration behind my pearl journey and brand.

Light refreshments will be served, and more than anything, it will be a simple, joyful time of connection and discovery among fellow alumnae.
