Grand Prairie CASA

Grand Prairie CASA has provided advocacy to abused and neglected since 2000.

CASA recruits and trains people from within the community to advocate on behalf of children in the courtroom, classroom, and the community. CASAs act as fact finders for juvenile judges by providing them with information gathered from individuals involved in the child’s life, legal documents, social worker’s files, educational, medical, and therapy records. CASAs work directly with the children, f

amily members, school officials, attorney’s, health care providers, and others involved in their lives, then share this information along with their recommendations to the court, so that well-informed decisions can be made regarding the child’s future.

But for a child in foster care, it can sometimes mean another new school, another new classroom, and another big adjustment.

A CASA volunteer can be a consistent person in a child's life through all of those changes—someone who knows their story, advocates for their needs, and reminds them that their voice matters.

One caring, consistent adult can make a difference. 💙
