Thank You, Longview Chamber!

What a wonderful evening at Business After Hours! 🎉

A huge thank you to Cablelynx Broadband for hosting such an incredible evening at the Gregg County Historical Museum. We are so grateful for the opportunity to gather with other Chamber members, enjoy great food and fellowship, tour the museum, and simply spend time connecting with our community.

And what an exciting surprise—Rehoboth was the lucky recipient of a new TV for our facility! 📺💙 We are incredibly grateful for this generous gift and know it will be a wonderful addition to Rehoboth Acres.

A very special thank you to Dale at Cablelynx and to everyone who worked behind the scenes to make such a fun and memorable evening possible. We also appreciate all of the businesses who contributed to the food, drinks, door prizes, and festivities.

Most of all, thank you to the Longview Chamber of Commerce for creating opportunities like this for businesses and nonprofits to come together, build relationships, and support one another.

We are so thankful to be part of this community! ❤️

A Day of Inclusion ✂️❤️

A big thank you to Morgan O’Neal with Leo + Luna for spending time with our Rehoboth Citizens and sharing about the importance of haircuts!

Morgan brought along her mannequin, Manny, and our Citizens loved getting to meet him! They had the opportunity to watch Morgan demonstrate a real haircut and see firsthand some of the tools and steps that hair professionals use.

Morgan also shared with our Citizens how haircuts can help us see clearly, feel comfortable, and look neat and clean. She taught us about washing our hair and helped our Citizens explore the different tools used by hair professionals.

Most importantly, Morgan reminded our Citizens of ways we can help our bodies feel calm during a haircut. She encouraged them that when we feel nervous, we can talk to God and remember that He is always with us. ❤️

What an amazing day of learning, encouragement, and inclusion! We are so thankful for community members like Morgan who help our Citizens learn, grow, and feel more confident in everyday experiences. ✂️✨

Whitney shared wisdom, practical tools, and encouragement with our families. We’re grateful for the way she equipped our parents with new perspectives and encouraged them in the journey of supporting their loved ones.

Counting Our Blessings at Rehoboth! 💙

We’re counting our blessings this week at Rehoboth Acres—and there are so many to celebrate!

Our Citizens kicked off a new unit on numbers and counting! 🔢 They practiced counting objects, writing numbers 1–5, and showing off their amazing math skills. They also practiced activities of daily living, created and painted clay pottery, and had a little fun with a game of balloon volleyball! 🎈

📖 In Bible study, we continued our August theme, “God Created!” As we studied Genesis 1:26–31, we learned that God created man and woman and that He loved the people He created. At the end of His creation, God saw that everything was very good!

A huge thank you to Ms. Hannah for leading our Citizens in chapel this week. She shared Psalm 23:4 and reminded us that even when we walk through the valley, God is with us—and we don’t have to stay there. What a beautiful reminder!

We are so thankful for another week of learning, growing, creating, laughing, and making room for our Citizens to thrive.

Sometimes a picture says so much.

In April, Smallwoods gifted Rehoboth Acres beautiful photos of our citizens to display throughout our building. Seeing their faces on our walls has been such a special gift—and watching our citizens light up when they saw their pictures was even more special. 🤍

A few weeks ago, we had the privilege of joining the Hallsville Lions Club to share about Rehoboth Acres and the incredible community we have the honor of serving.

We were so grateful for the warm welcome, thoughtful questions, and genuine interest shown to us that day. And today, we were blessed once again as the Hallsville Lions Club gifted Rehoboth Acres an incredible donation! ❤️

We are deeply grateful for your generosity and for believing in our mission to make room for people with disabilities to thrive.

What a great week at Rehoboth Acres! 💙

Our Citizens continued learning about emotions, with a special focus on LOVE. They explored ways to fill others’ “love spots” and practiced meaningful ways to show love to those around them. They also enjoyed practicing activities of daily living, exploring sensory stations and our STEM Lab, and getting creative with crafts!

📖 In Bible study, we continued our August theme, “God Created!” As we studied Genesis 1:20–25, our Citizens were reminded that God created the animals. He truly is a great big God! 🐘🦁🦋

A huge thank you to Phyllis Dozier for leading our Citizens in chapel this week. She shared Psalm 23 and reminded us that we are like sheep—and Jesus is our Good Shepherd. 🐑❤️

Thank you also to Celine Phippen for leading our large group rotation and sharing about her recent trip! Our Citizens loved seeing photos, trying some yummy candies, and looking through beautiful postcards from her journey. ✈️🌎

We are so grateful for another wonderful week of learning, growing, worshiping, and making room for our Citizens to thrive! 💙
