Shared Science To build on children’s STEM experiences through constructive & creative programs.

Shared Science was granted nonprofit status in 2009, for the purpose of creating and delivering early engineering and science learning opportunities to school-aged children (K-12) in the City of Long Beach. As a nonprofit, we bring together funding and equipment resources, identify gifted engineers and instructors, tailor the best curriculum available, and then bundle it all together to benefit and captivate the imaginations of young students. Shared Science believes every child should have the opportunity to explore the sciences, especially computer sciences and engineering, early in their academic careers. When kids have these experiences in elementary school, there is a much greater chance that they will pursue these studies in higher education, and as careers. We want to impact the numbers of kids entering into Engineering, Computer Technology and Information Technology as the skilled workers of tomorrow!

We Reached Our Goal! 🎉 Now Let’s Keep the Momentum Going.
We did it! Thanks to our incredible community, Shared Science has reached our $25,000 Long Beach Gives goal to support Tech Girls Workshop, Rad Robotics, and Team Momentum.

In 2024–25, Shared Science engaged 3,078 students, granted 1,180 scholarships, visited 42 sites, and supported 7 robotics teams, with 20% more girls participating than the previous year. 💡🤖
