The Works on Paper Exhibition is on view inside LBIF's Gallery from May 16 - July 5. With over 60 works of art installed and juried by the Metropolitan Museum of Art's own Joanna Sheers Seidenstein Ph.D, we are delighted to share each artists' work and statement.

Image 1: Chao Song, New Jersey. "The Two Brothers." Photographic print on handmade paper made from recycled books.
Statement: "In the era of digital media, โ€œrealityโ€ has become elusive. By combining photography, text, and material experimentation, I aim to provoke reflection on information overload, cognitive biases, and social fragmentation."

Image 2: Nicholas Ruth, New York. "Rt 14 Overpass." Photogravure.
Statement: "Signs in the built environment carry more meanings than just their texts. The backsides of signs humbly support the fronts while simultaneously considering that every message is shaped by its body."

Image 3: Ziui Chen Vance, Pennsylvania. "1984_Coded."Geocoded apparatus ink drawings plotted on Bristol paper
Statement: "My work intersects painting, technology, and immersive experiences, as well as examines themes of femininity, myth, migration, and technology. I make physical painting, translate it into geocode, add linework, and plot to get a response."

LBIFโ€™s Arts Programming is made possible by funds from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts, a partner agency of the National Endowment for the Arts and the Cultural and Heritage Commission of Ocean County, New Jersey and The Ocean County Board of Commissioners, and New Jersey Cultural Trust.
