Celebrate Recovery - Lonedell, Missouri Celebrate Recovery (CR) is a 12-step biblical and balanced program that helps us overcome our hurts, hang-ups, and habits.

We meet on Tuesdays at Bethel Baptist Church. Dinner is provided and served at 6PM in the church basement. Large group starts at 6:30PM in the sanctuary.

DAY 165 - THE LAST DAYS

WE KNOW THAT IF THE EARTHLY TENT WE LIVE IN IS DESTROYED , WE HAVE A BUILDING FROM GOD , AND ETERNAL HOUSE IN HEAVEN , NOT BUILT BY HUMAN HANDS .

WHAT IF WE KNEW THAT TODAY WAS THE LAST DAY WE WOULD LIVE HERE ON EARTH ?

WHAT WOULD WE DO ?

HOW WOULD WE CHOOSE TO LIVE IT ?

LIFE HAS NO GUARANTEES . We are all here for just a short time , about 78 years on average . The following help me settle the question in my own mind .

1. HAVE YOU INSURED YOUR ETERNAL LIFE BY INVITING JESUS CHRIST , THE ONLY TRUE HIGHER POWER , INTO YOUR LIFE AS LORD AND SAVIOR ?

2. HAVE YOU MADE AMENDS TO THOSE YOU HAVE HURT ?

3. HAVE YOU OFFERED YOUR FORGIVENESS TO THOSE WHO HAVE HURT YOU ?

4. HAVE YOU SPOKEN WITH THE PEOPLE WHO ARE MOST IMPORTANT TO YOU AND LET THEM KNOW THE SIGNIFICANT IMPACT THEY HAVE HAD ON YOUR LIFE ?

NOW THINK ABOUT WHAT A DIFFERENCE IT WOULD MAKE IF WE LIVED EACH DAY HERE ON EARTH AS IF IT WERE OUR LAST--EACH DAY , SURRENDERING TO GOD'S WILL , MAKING AMENDS TO THOSE WE HAVE HURT , FORGIVING THOSE WHO HURT US , AND SPENDING TIME WITH THOSE WE LOVE .

THEN THE REAL LAST DAY WOULD BE BUSINESS AS USUAL , WOULDN'T IT ?

AND ALL THE DAYS IN BETWEEN WOULD BE DAYS OF A SIGNIFICANCE LIVED WITH MEANING AND PURPOSE .

FATHER , I WANT TO LIVE EACH DAY AS IF IT IS MY LAST - SPENDING MY DAYS PREPARING FOR THE ETERNITY I WILL BE SPENDING WITH YOU . IN JESUS' NAME , Amen .

CONCEALED SIN HURTS CONFESSED SIN HEALS .

GOD WILL OFTEN GIVE US TIME TO CONFESS SIN PRIVATELY BEFORE SIN GETS EXPOSED PUBLICLY .

Psalm 32:1 Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered.

2 Blessed is the man unto whom the LORD imputeth not iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no guile.

3 When I kept silence, my bones waxed old through my roaring all the day long.

4 For day and night thy hand was heavy upon me: my moisture is turned into the drought of summer. Selah.

5 I acknowledged my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid. I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the LORD; and thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin. Selah.

DAY 164 - WELCOME HOME

" THE FATHER SAID TO HIS SERVANTS , ' QUICK ! BRING THE BEST ROBE AND PUT IT ON HIM . Put a ring on his finger and sandals on his feet. Bring the fattened calf and kill it . Let's have a feast and celebrate . For this son of mine was dead and is alive again ; he was lost and is found .' So they began to celebrate ."

IN THE PARABLE OF THE PRODIGAL IN LUKE 15 , A MAN HAD TWO SONS . AT THE REQUEST OF HIS YOUNGER SON , THE MAN DIVIDED HIS ESTATE AND GAVE THE YOUNGER SON HIS PORTION . The sun quickly squandered his wealth by living in a wild ungodly manner . Finally , he found himself hungry and homeless . In desperation he went to work caring for pigs . Realizing even his father's servants were well fed , he was determined to return and ask his father to receive HIM , not as a son but as a hired servant . Arriving at his home , he was surprised to see his father waiting to welcome him with open arms .

WHEN WE FINALLY REACH OUR BOTTOM , OUR HEAVENLY FATHER IS WAITING TO RECEIVE US AGAIN , NOT AS SERVANTS BUT AS SONS . He has prepared places like Celebrate Recovery through which we can leave our past behind and experience the joy of being welcomed home .
H is for healthy .
O is for open .
M is for maturing .
E is for encouraging .

" AMAZING FACTS DAILY BIBLE DEVOTIONAL "

CORE CHANGE . June 4 2026 .

GOING FROM BLONDE TO BRUNETTE HAS BEEN CALLED A HEALTH HAZARD DUE TO THE TOXIC CHEMICALS INVOLVED IN THE PROCESS . Recently , however , scientists have been experimenting with a new material : graphene . This safer substance is processed into a gel and sprayed onto hair in order to provide a color change that lasts for 30 washes .

UNLIKE THE SUPERFICIAL CHANGES MADE BY BEAUTICIAN , CHRIST CAME TO TRANSFORM OUR SINFUL STATE BY TAKING OUR SINS UPON HIMSELF . Naturally, we could not change, and the sins we had already committed should have killed us . “Can the Ethiopian change his skin or the leopard its spots ? Then may you also do good who are accustomed to do evil ” (Jeremiah 13:23).

THE BIBLE TEACHES THAT OUR SINS —INDEED , THE SINS OF THE “WHOLE WORLD ” (1 John 2:2)—WERE TRANSFERRED TO JESUS . Isaiah expressed how GOD THE FATHER would honor JESUS for taking the punishment for our law-breaking : “I will divide Him a portion with the great, and He shall divide the spoil with the strong , because He poured out His soul unto death , and He was numbered with the transgressors , and He bore the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors ” (Isaiah 53:12) .

JESUS NEVER SINNED IN ORDER TO TAKE OUR SINS UPON HIMSELF . This is why Isaiah points out that He was being treated like a sinner , even though He committed no sin . As a result of His true innocence , He could take our sins and give us His innocence instead .

DAVID REALIZED THIS WHEN HE REPENTED OF HIS SINS OF ADULTERY AND MURDER ; HE PRAYED , “ CREATE IN ME A CLEAN HEART, O GOD , AND RENEW A STEADFAST SPIRIT WITHIN ME ” (Psalm 51:10). In effect , he was believing that because of the right relation to GOD that the coming Messiah would have , David could receive forgiveness . By starting afresh , he could begin to live the beautiful way of life that the MESSIAH would live .

Apply It :

RESPOND WITH KINDNESS TO AN UNKIND ACT DIRECTED TOWARD YOU .

DAY 163 - THE CHARGES ARE DROPPED !

WHEN YOU WERE STUCK IN YOUR OLD SIN - DEAD LIFE , YOU WERE INCAPABLE OF RESPONDING TO GOD . God brought you alive - - right along with Christ ! Think of it! All sins forgiven , the slate wiped clean , that old arrest warrant canceled and nailed to Christ's cross . He stripped all the spiritual tyrants in the universe of their shame authority at the Cross and marched them naked through the streets .

~~~~~~ Colossians 2:13-15 ~~~~~~

AS I SAT IN A CIRCLE OF PEOPLE , WAITING FOR THE SHARE GROUP TO START , SOMEONE ASKED THIS QUESTION , " What's the best news anyone ever told you ?" Without hesitation , one of the men shouted out , "The charges are dropped !" We all laughed but we knew exactly how good those words were. In reality , those should be the words we all long to hear . Those old arrest warrants with our names on them have been canceled by the redeeming work of Christ .

IT CAN BE SHOCKING WHEN WE REALIZE THAT NONE OF US - - NOT EVEN ONE - - WAS GOOD ENOUGH TO BE IN THE PRESENCE OF JESUS . The Bible says that even those who led really good lives are separated from God by their own sin . We are all in need of a Savior .

EVERY ONE OF US MUST MAKE THE DECISION TO BECOME A FOLLOWER OF JESUS CHRIST . And when we do , regardless of how we've lived our lives , the message we receive is , " The charges are dropped ! " Forgiveness is instant and complete ! Now that's real freedom .

THANK YOU , FATHER , FOR SENDING JESUS TO ARRANGE FOR THE CHARGES AGAINST ME TO BE DROPPED . You have given me a new chance to live my life in a way that is pleasing to You . IN JESUS ' NAME , Amen .
