In mid-September, several Next GEN Producers participants had the opportunity to attend a BVDV dinner meeting hosted by IDEXX, featuring keynote speaker Dr. Rafael Paiva.

The evening was packed with valuable information about BVDV, herd health, prevention, testing, and practical management protocols that producers can take back to their own operations.

One of the things we love most about Next GEN is creating opportunities for our youth to learn beyond their own barns. Understanding the why behind herd health decisions is an important part of becoming a well-rounded cattle producer.

A big thank you to IDEXX for providing this opportunity and to Dr. Paiva for sharing his knowledge and experience with the next generation of producers! 🐄

Our 2026 group photo! 💚

We may be missing two of our first-year participants who had prior obligations, but this group represents so much of what Next GEN Producers is all about. Learning, growing, leadership, agriculture, and building relationships that will last far beyond these two years.
As we look ahead, we’re especially excited to see where this group goes next.
🎓 Our graduating participants, we can’t wait to watch you take everything you’ve learned and continue to make your mark in agriculture and beyond. Your Next GEN journey may be ending, but we know your story is just beginning.

🌱 Our continuing participants, another year means more opportunities to learn, lead, make decisions, and grow into the young agricultural leaders you are becoming.

🐮 Our new participants, welcome to the beginning of your Next GEN journey! There is so much ahead of you, and we can’t wait to see what you learn, what challenges you tackle, and how you grow along the way.

This program was built around the belief that the future of agriculture depends on investing in the next generation. Looking at this group, we couldn’t be more excited about that future.

✨ What a night to remember! ✨

Our 3rd Annual Next GEN Producers Beef & Wine Banquet was one for the books! We are so grateful for everyone who came out to support these young producers and the future of agriculture. ❤️🐄

The new venue and new date were absolutely amazing, and we couldn't have asked for a better evening. From the incredible beef and wine to the friendships, laughter, auction excitement, and celebration of our participants, it was a truly rewarding night for everyone involved.

A very special CONGRATULATIONS to our graduating participants as they officially take the next step in their cattle careers. Each graduating participant received their Bill of Sale and Brand Inspection for their project cattle:

What is Next GEN Producers all about?

Next GEN is about these KIDS.
And Next GEN is about YOU.

This program was founded on a simple idea: build a strong foundation in our youth so they can become the leaders, innovators, and agricultural experts of tomorrow.
Our program is centered around beef cattle and sustainable production agriculture, but the principles our participants learn reach far beyond the pasture.

These young people are learning to:
🐂 Build breeding programs
🌱 Understand nutrition and sustainable production
❤️ Make decisions centered around animal welfare
📈 Develop marketing strategies
💰 Understand financials and the business side of agriculture
🧠 Think critically, solve problems, and make decisions
🤝 Work together, communicate, and lead

They aren't just being taught but they are putting those skills into practice.
This program doesn't happen without the support of our community.

The funds raised through our annual Beef & Wine Banquet help make Next GEN possible. Those dollars go directly toward educational tools, hands-on learning opportunities, field trips and studies, and the materials our educators need to provide these kids with meaningful experiences.

We’re bringing in some deep country roots for the 2026 NGP Beef & Wine Banquet!

We are excited to welcome Lendon James to the stage as our live entertainment for the evening! 🤠🎶

Lendon is making the miles to Western Colorado to spend the evening with us, and we couldn’t be more excited. His authentic country sound, cowboy spirit, and energy make him a perfect fit for a night celebrating agriculture, community, and the next generation.

After an incredible evening of beef, wine, auctions, awards, and celebrating our youth, we’ll kick back and let Lendon James take it from there! 🍷🥩🎶
