We wouldn’t be where we are now without the support of amazing community volunteers! If you’re interested in volunteering this season, please join us May 16th from 9:30 am - 11:30 am for start of season volunteer orientation! We’ll have a farm tour, a visit with farm staff and sheep, and an overview of this year’s programs. There will also be opportunities for you to sign up to participate in the activities that interest you the most.

This event will help orient volunteers to the farm so we recommend folks attend the whole duration if possible, especially if you have not volunteered here before.

Wear appropriate shoes for walking the farm.

There are only a few more days to apply to the 4th Annual Fiber Arts Residency, held from September 20th - 27th at Gael Roots Farm and the Catskill Art Space!

If you are a fiber artist, we encourage you to apply for this one-week residency, which welcomes one fine artist working in fiber to spend time with us on a working 150-acre Catskills farm to foster a deeper connection to the fibers incorporated into your work.

This is a unique residency tailored to the selected artist. Priority will be given to someone who intends to engage with the farm environment as an influence on their creative practice. The selected artist will be provided a private bedroom and shared bathroom in the Gael Roots Farmhouse, along with a sun-filled, south-facing studio, an honorarium of $1,500, access to the 150 acres, a large vegetable garden, heritage Icelandic and Shetland sheep, Highland cattle, and fiber arts mentors who are available to help the artist develop new skills.

The residency will culminate with a public presentation of your work at the beautiful CAS gallery on September 26, 2026.

Join us to forage wild greens and pet the sheep! (Sorry no lambs have been born yet)

Participants can learn how to harvest and utilize dandelion greens.

Suggested donation for the event is $10 per person. Funds go towards growing vegetables for the Calliope & Gael Grocers Food Pantry in Livingston Manor. Space is limited so click the link in our bio to register 🐑
