🍺 The Warm Mug Historians: Modernity in the Munich B**r Halls

Enjoy a mug of something warm and take a fun, informative journey into the past in this program for history lovers!
SU professor Robert Shea Terrell, PhD will transport us to the b**r halls of Germany. Munich is home to some of the most iconic spaces of consumption in the world. But b**r halls are historically more than they seem; not just vessels of tradition, but places where the fabric of modern life was fought over. This talk recovers the worlds of workers, families, waitresses, and revolutionaries between the 1890s and the 1920s. It asks what these iconic spaces can tell us about how modern societies take shape, and how they can come violently undone.
Tea, coffee, hot chocolate, and mug will be provided! Registration is not required.
