🦌✨ A tiny wildlife rescue moment

A young deer found its way to safety this week thanks to the crew at Little Elm Animal Shelter and one of our incredible FLEAS volunteers, Evert, who transported this baby to a licensed wildlife rehabilitator for specialized care.

Community teamwork saves lives — big, small, furry, and hooved.

Meet Jack & Lakshmi, two senior souls who have only ever known life side‑by‑side.

They’re 11–12 years old, larger kitties with even larger hearts, and they came to the shelter after losing the person who loved them more than anything.

Lakshmi is a gentle tabby girl with a soft spirit. She’s friendly, but the world feels big and scary right now. She may hide under blankets until she feels safe, but once she trusts you, she melts into soft head scratches and quiet affection.

Jack, her lifelong best friend, is an 11–12 year old black male who has been just as overwhelmed by shelter life. He also hides when he’s unsure, but when he feels safe, he leans into gentle attention and loves being close to his people.

These two have been each other’s comfort through every loss and every change.
They’re not asking for much — just a calm home, a soft place to land, and the chance to spend their golden years together, surrounded by kindness.

If you have room in your heart for a bonded pair who just want peace, love, and a warm blanket, Jack and Lakshmi are waiting for you at Little Elm Animal Services.
