Today LiNE inherited the first of two 26 foot “monomoy” oar powered boats from SUNY Maritime College. “Valor”, the first of these boats, will be used in the water at the LiNE homeport in Linden; the second boat, “Loyalty” will be paired with a trailer so that it can be transported for parades, training events, and to other more distant Sea Scout units locations. The names “Loyalty” and “Valor” are taken directly from the SUNY Maritime College crest. These boats trained cadets for over 20 years and we hope they will continue to train future cadets and midshipmen for many, many more years to come.
