We are sad to announce that one of our former Sea Dart sailors and a long time supporter, Jason Bennett, has crossed the final bar too soon at the age of 47. We have been thinking about him a lot throughout or recent engine rebuild project because he was the last one to do any major work on it when he did a top end rebuild a few years ago. Before him his grandfather had worked on it in the late 1990’s. His grandfather was also on the crew that delivered the boat from Charleston, SC, to Linden in 1972 to be a training vessel for the Sea Scouts. Jason and his family will always be part of the Sea Dart and we will always remember him as our Buda diesel powers the next generation of Sea Dart sailors ahead. Fair winds and following seas, shipmate.

View Jason E. Bennett's obituary, contribute to their memorial, see their funeral service details, and more.
