I keep thinking about how many people are trying incredibly hard to heal, lead, parent, work, recover, or simply get through the day, while living in bodies that never fully stand down.
We often ask, “What is wrong with me?”
But a more compassionate question may be: “What is my body still trying to protect?”
The nervous system does not organize around what we know intellectually. It organizes around what it has learned through experience.
Sometimes healing begins when we stop treating the body as the problem and begin listening to it as the messenger.
