Make Music Liberty is right around the corner - have you signed up yet? The deadline to register as a venue or performer is Wednesday, June 17 at noon.

We're looking for artists like YOU to join us in this world-wide celebration of music! This event is for musicians of all ages, all genres of music and all levels of musical ability. Whether you’re in a band, a solo artist, a child, a senior, singer or instrumentalist there’s a spot for you to perform!

NEW ART ALERT!!

"When the Clouds Break", by Jodie Bliss, was installed earlier this week on North Main Street as part of the 2026 Rotating Sculpture Program. This 12-foot steel mermaid grabs your attention from the moment you turn the corner.

The remaining pieces in the 2026 exhibit will be installed in September. Enjoy these last few months with the 2025 Rotating Sculputre display!

Are you as excited as we are for Make Music Liberty? Join us for a full day of fun, family and festivities as we celebrate Make Music Day on Sunday, June 21! The streets will come alive with music and melodies from musicians of every age, genre and skill level.

Thought it couldn't get any better? Well think again!

In between performances, wander through our joint block party with Historic Downtown Liberty, Inc. to check out local vendors and beat the heat under the vendor tents. Make sure to stick around for an after-hours performance by The KC Sax Pack at 6:30 p.m. at Second Baptist Church for an afternoon you won't forget!

Last week, the Liberty Arts Commission presented Nathan Wyman with a service award to honor his 11 years of dedication to the Arts Commission. Wyman was the primary driving force in the revitalization of the Stocksdale Art Gallery at William Jewell College.

After 28 years at William Jewell College, he has accepted a job at Millikin University. Thank you for your hard work and dedication to the Liberty Arts Commission!

Join us for Make Music Liberty on Sunday, June 21! Take in a variety of different sounds by musicians of every age and musical style. Performances will take place all around Liberty, primarily centered in the downtown area, from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Throughout the event, make sure to stop by our joint block party with Historic Downtown Liberty, Inc. on Gallatin Street!

End the night on a high note and stop by Second Baptist Church (300 E. Kansas St.) for the featured after hours performance by KC Sax Pack starting at 6:30 p.m.

BRAND NEW ART now on display in Liberty!! Historic Downtown Liberty, Inc. (HDLI) held their fourth annual utility box wrap competition with students from Liberty and Liberty North High Schools.

The two students featured this year are Brooke Jenkins, a sophomore at Liberty High School, who designed the sea animal wrap (located at the Ruth Moore sprayground) and Harlee Seiler, a Junior at Liberty North High School, who created "Constellations over Liberty" (located at the corner of Ridge Avenue and Kansas Street).

The wraps were funded in part by a Mini Art Grant from the Liberty Arts Commission. Mini Art Grants are awarded on an ongoing basis through the year for amounts up to $1,000 each. For more information about the Commission's Mini and Annual Art Grant Programs » https://bit.ly/3UvPMIT
