Lexington Optimist Club

Lexington Optimist Club Friend of Youth Optimist International is an association of more than 2,600 Optimist Clubs around the world dedicated to "Bringing Out the Best in Kids."

Adult volunteers join Optimist Clubs to conduct positive service projects in their communities aimed at providing a helping hand to youth. With their upbeat attitude, Optimist Club members help empower young people to be the best that they can be.

Today, the Optimist Club received a $3,000 donation from AWG Norfolk. These funds will be allocated for food assistance and ongoing support for displaced Tyson employees. We would like to express our gratitude to AWG for their generous contribution during these challenging times.

Goodwill is supporting the Lexington community. From Dec. 4–Jan. 31, all Round Up donations at our 11 Goodwill stores will be donated to the Lexington Community Foundation. Your spare change helps families facing emergency needs during the Tyson plant closure. Every dollar stays local. Every donation helps.

This year, we are honored to recognize a longtime Operation Santa Claus volunteer in a truly meaningful way. These beautiful bags were lovingly created and donated by Jamie Gruntorad in honor of her husband, Kenny. They are a perfect reflection of Kenny’s generous spirit, warm heart, and unwavering enthusiasm for giving to others.
