Hello everyone,

Daylight savings time is now upon us and that means it’s time to start our Tuesday/Thursday club rides! Just a few announcements for this year:

** New for 2026: due to The Great Wagon Road construction around The Lewisville Square and to avoid large groups of cyclists navigating the traffic circles, we will be starting all rides from Foothills Christian Church, 819 Williams Rd (https://maps.app.goo.gl/zVJUz2SF82VShhy2A). The church has graciously opened up their private parking lot and sanctuary bathroom facilities to our club for our Tuesday and Thursday rides. Please respect their property and leave it in the same (or better) condition than you found it. Do not urinate on the surrounding property or you will be removed from the club. Please park in the lower parking lot, leaving the parking spots next to the sanctuary available for church members. **

• Due to limited daylight, March rides will depart at 5:30 pm. We currently plan to resume the 6:00 pm start in April.

• If you haven’t done so already, please join our club. Here's how:
1. Navigate to: https://piedmontflyers.org/
2. Click the “sign in” link in the upper right corner of the page.
3. Enter your email address in the “register” dialog box and click submit. Important: if you’ve previously joined the club but your membership dues have expired, please use the same email address you used in the past. This will ensure your payment history transfers.
4. You'll receive an email with a link to create your password.
5. Once you have created a new account on the new website, go to the “My account” tab to see your payment history and when your current membership expires.

• Now is a great time to renew your PFBC membership (if you haven’t done so already). Our website Tuesday/Thursday ride list continues to be restricted to active PFMC members only. It’s only $25 and supports our required club liability insurance and the annual Lewisville Flyer charity event. Thanks in advance for your support!

• PFBC ride updates will be available on the Piedmont Cycling Discord server. If you are not already a member, please reach out to any club member for an invitation link.

Thank you everyone for making the 2025 Lewisville Flyer a huge success! A special thanks to the following for their special contribution to this year's event:

Note about parking for tomorrow's event: parking will be in the overflow parking area at Incendiary. If you park in the paved parking spots next to the brewery you will be asked to move your car. There is another event taking place at 12 and Incendiary will need these spaces left open. Thank you!

Time is running short! Don't miss your opportunity to sign up for Saturday's charity ride benefiting the Lewisville community assistance program. Shirts and socks are going fast and you receive a discounted rate for registering ahead of time! The forecast looks great. Food provided by Don Juan's Mexican Restaurant for all riders and beer/alcohol will be available for purchase at Incendiary Brewing Company following the ride. Hope to see you there!

** UPDATE** Due to some issues with the club's PayPal account, some folks have been unable to pay their annual dues over the past few weeks. Those issues should now be resolved. We are going to extend the deadline to register for this year's Lewisville Flyer and make sure your club dues are current to be eligible for a drawing for a free entry into this year's Gran Fondo Hincapie - Greenville (see event details below). Registration deadline now is Wednesday October 1st at midnight. Drawing will take place on Thursday October 2nd. Winner must commit to attending the Hincapie or it will be raffled off again and ultimately be awarded to someone who will attend.

The 2025 Lewisville Flyer will depart from Incendiary Brewing in Lewisville, NC. The routes flow across the rolling hills in Yadkin & Surry counties and the metric route crosses the Yadkin River four times.

The Piedmont Flyers Bicycle Club (PFBC) have once again partnered with the Lewisville Civic Club and their partnership with the Lewisville Community Assistance Program (LCAP). The LCAP is a “joint project of churches in the Lewisville area that help people of the community who have an emergency situation, involving food, shelter, and/or utilities. LCAP strives to provide hope and healing by meeting these needs through Christian love and service for the benefit of all.”

Pre-registration fee is $40 per person for active PFBC members and $50 for non-members. If you're not sure whether or not you're an active member, go to https://piedmontflyers.org/ and click My Account to see if you have paid your dues in the last 12 months (this will be audited for accuracy). If not, register today to enjoy all the privileges of club membership and save $10 on your registration fee. Preregistration closes on Friday October 10th at 3 p.m.

This year all registered cyclists will receive a free lunch ticket for Don Juan's Mexican food truck!

Pre-register to receive a free long sleeve T-shirt and cycling socks courtesy of Hanes Brands! Supplies are limited so make sure you pre-register early to secure your swag.

Day-of registration begins at 7:30 a.m. at Incendiary Brewing in Lewisville, NC, and costs $50 for PFBC members and $60 for non-member (cash or check only).

All rides begin at 9 a.m.

Bathrooms will be available at the ride start.

There will be one rest stop with snacks and fluids.

A sag vehicle will support both routes. Sag support will end at 1 p.m.

Post ride refreshments will also be available for purchase at Incendiary Brewing.

This event is rain or shine, no refunds. You must register and complete a waiver to ride. Cash and checks only the day of the event. Riders must be 18+. Helmets are REQUIRED, daytime visible lights are highly recommended.

• Just in cased you missed it on Discord in January, a new website has replaced our old website. To gain access the new website you'll need to create a new account. Here's how:

• A few additional notes regarding Tuesday/Thursday rides:
o Rides will depart from The Shallowford Square and typically start down Williams Rd to reduce the traffic situation on Shallowford Rd. We will re-group at the Lewisville Fire Station and split our group rides at that point.
o Please park at the Lewisville Elementary School so we do not take up all the parking spaces at The Square. Parking is limited and other members of the community need to be able to park at The Square (our group can be very large at times).
o Restrooms are available at The Square.
