Sent Out Community Church

Sent Out Community Church Sent Out Community Church, 11280 E. Lennon Road, Lennon, MI 48449 We are a family church with a love and compassion for all ages.

Children remain a very high priority in our teaching and in building for the future, but are also a very important part of the present. All of God’s family members from one day to over a hundred years are important in our church family. We remember and honor those who have already gone to heaven who sacrificed to give us our present place of worship and teaching. We celebrate every person we worsh

ip with every week. Most of all, we are glad we serve the never-changing God the Father, Jesus His Son and the precious Holy Spirit. In Matthew 9:36-38 it is written of Jesus, “When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.” Then he said to his disciples, ‘The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.’”

Thanks to April for heading a group from Sent Out to man one of the stops on the Assenmacher 100 bike ride this morning! Our goal is to show God’s love in a practical way!

P.S. The Assenmacher 100 is a recreational and social fun bicycle ride through the farmland and villages of mid-Michigan. Started in 1980, it has become one of Michigan's premier century rides and has been endorsed by the Governor's Council on Physical Fitness, Health and Sports. It is held each year on the third Sunday in August. With routes of 20, 34, 56, 66, 100 miles, and gravel routes of 40 and 64 miles, there are courses for experienced cyclists as well as the casual rider.

The weather didn’t cooperate, so we had a cook in today! Dave and Blake did an amazing job manning the grill, cooking amazing hamburgers and hotdogs! Thanks to everyone who pitched in this week to clean the pavilion, do yard work, and get things ready for the day! Also, not pictured is Amy Robinson, who spearheaded the meal! It was a fun day! We love and appreciate all of our church family!

A huge thank you to five men who took time today to come out and clear some bricks from the property and fix shingles on the pavilion. Words can’t even express the blessing this is! Three of them are coming back to mow tomorrow as our mower is on the fritz and this gives us more time to explore options!

Our song of the month for May is Abide. "Abide" means to tolerate, endure, or accept something without objection. More commonly, it means to remain stable, continue in a place, or conform to rules—such as when you "abide by" a decision. May we all learn to "Abide" in Jesus-to learn to depend on Him and Him alone.

In May 2021, Pastor Dana wrote a "Letter to the Graduate" and read it to his son, Elijah. He did the same thing with his daughter, Abigail, in 2023. By 2024, we began having more kids graduate in our church. Each graduating high school senior now gets to choose if they want to sit in a Lazy Boy (forgot to get a pic of that today) as Pastor Dana's sermon that week is their letter. The entire church gleans the wisdom from these letters, as they are very Christ-centered and biblical. Here is Tony's letter, our graduate this year. (Note-Pastor Dana's third child graduated this year also. She did not want a letter.) ;)

This week our message is from 1 Corinthians 5-7.
