What a day. What a year. What a reminder of why we do this.

This year, The Cinderella Effect gave away 497 dresses and suits.

But The Cinderella Effect has never really been about giving away free formalwear. It’s about making sure every student who walks through the doors feels confident, included, valued, and loved. It’s about watching someone look in the mirror and stand a little taller. It’s about reminding them that they deserve to feel special, too.

None of this happens without an incredible community behind us.

To my family — thank you for believing in this mission right alongside me and for all the hours of hauling, organizing, setting up, cleaning up, and doing whatever needed to be done. I could never do this without you.

Thank you to Leesville High School for once again opening your doors and giving us a place to make this event possible. Their love and support for every Wampus Cat who has ever walked through their halls extends way past graduation.

Thank you to Tanner Construction for allowing us to borrow the truck and trailer to haul all of our storage boxes. That generosity made a huge job so much easier.

Thank you to Senator Mike Reese for donating storage space for our dresses throughout the year. Having a safe place to keep everything until the next event is such an important part of making this mission possible.

To every single volunteer who showed up and worked so hard — thank you. You gave your time, your energy, and most importantly, your kindness to every student who walked through those doors.

And to every person who donated a dress, a suit, shoes, accessories, supplies, or simply shared our posts, showed up to support us, or prayed for this mission — you are a part of every single one of these moments. Facebook is not letting me tag everyone but please know if you contributed to this mission, I am forever grateful!

When the clock strikes 9, the doors to The Cinderella Effect will OPEN, and it’s time to find the perfect look for your very own fairytale moment.

But remember… every fairytale has a clock. ⏰
When the clock strikes 2, our Fairy Godmothers will pack the magic away, the dresses and suits will return to storage and The Cinderella Effect will disappear until next year.

👑 WHO CAN SHOP?
This event is for only high school students attending Prom or Homecoming.
🚫 No pageants or weddings, please. BUT WAIT… WHAT IF I FIND “THE ONE”?
Listen, we’re pageant people — we get it. Sometimes you put on a dress, look in the mirror and just KNOW… this is THE dress.
While The Cinderella Effect dresses are reserved FREE for students attending Prom & Homecoming, if you happen to fall completely in love with a dress for another occasion, ask us about purchasing it. 🩵
Here’s the best part: every dollar goes right back into The Cinderella Effect to replace that dress with another one for a student who needs it for Prom or Homecoming. 👗➡️👗So your “I HAVE TO HAVE THIS DRESS” moment can actually help give another student her own Cinderella moment. 👑✨
You find the dress. We replace the dress. Another student gets to shine. Everybody wins. 🩵

Now back to business-
Students in junior high at smaller schools are welcome if you have a formal school-sponsored dance to attend.

🏠 Homeschool students are welcome, too!

🧵 Can you sew? We need seamstresses for quick fixes.
👔 Know how to tie a tie? There may be a young man who needs you to teach him.
👗 Can you keep dressing rooms moving and organized? We need you.
📦 Can you unpack, organize, carry, set up or pack everything back up? DEFINITELY need you.
👏 And if all you can do is sit in a chair and tell someone, “OH MY GOSH, THAT’S THE ONE! YOU LOOK AMAZING!” — guess what? We have a job for you, too. 🩵

The Cinderella Effect began with one simple mission: to help students feel confident and seen during life’s special moments. Over the years, I’ve watched it restore confidence in so many others — but what I didn’t expect was how much it would build confidence in me too. Serving others has a way of showing you what you’re capable of. This year I’m stepping up and chasing a dream by competing in the Miss LSU Pageant. Here’s to believing in yourself, taking chances, and hoping to inspire YOU to do the same. 🩵

Meet Contestant #23 Charleigh Travis

Charleigh is from Leesville, LA. She is majoring in Landscape Architecture and minoring Interior design and Mass Communication!��“I am a sophomore majoring in Landscape Architecture, a proud member of Kappa Delta Sorority, and a lifelong Tiger at heart. Born and raised in Louisiana, LSU has always been more than a university to me; it is a tradition and a legacy woven into the fabric of my life. I chose to compete in the Miss LSU Pageant to expand my commitment to service and represent the heart of this campus. As the founder of The Cinderella Effect, which provides free formalwear to students in need, I have seen how confidence can transform not just the way they look, but the way someone sees themselves and that transformation is what inspires me. I believe Miss LSU is not just a title, but a calling to lead with compassion, uplift others with intention, and represent this university with grace. If given the honor, I will strive to ensure every student feels valued, every tradition is honored, and every life I touch is left more empowered than I found it.”
