The Cinderella Effect began with one simple mission: to help students feel confident and seen during life’s special moments. Over the years, I’ve watched it restore confidence in so many others — but what I didn’t expect was how much it would build confidence in me too. Serving others has a way of showing you what you’re capable of. This year I’m stepping up and chasing a dream by competing in the Miss LSU Pageant. Here’s to believing in yourself, taking chances, and hoping to inspire YOU to do the same. 🩵

Meet Contestant #23 Charleigh Travis

Charleigh is from Leesville, LA. She is majoring in Landscape Architecture and minoring Interior design and Mass Communication!��“I am a sophomore majoring in Landscape Architecture, a proud member of Kappa Delta Sorority, and a lifelong Tiger at heart. Born and raised in Louisiana, LSU has always been more than a university to me; it is a tradition and a legacy woven into the fabric of my life. I chose to compete in the Miss LSU Pageant to expand my commitment to service and represent the heart of this campus. As the founder of The Cinderella Effect, which provides free formalwear to students in need, I have seen how confidence can transform not just the way they look, but the way someone sees themselves and that transformation is what inspires me. I believe Miss LSU is not just a title, but a calling to lead with compassion, uplift others with intention, and represent this university with grace. If given the honor, I will strive to ensure every student feels valued, every tradition is honored, and every life I touch is left more empowered than I found it.”

Cinderella family we have a special needs young lady that wants to attend prom but she missed our event. Our dresses are inaccessible throughout the year until our event so if anyone has a long dress in a size 2-4 that they are planning on donating, we can get it to her
Let's make her beautiful for her prom! We have 10 days to make it happen for her! 💗👗

One more HUGE THANK YOU! Without the support of the Home of Heroes Thrift Shop, we could not continue this event for our community. Not only do they support us financially, but they show up and put in work too! And A LOT of it!
Please support their mission! They have great stuff there and you do not need a military ID to shop there. They are behind the scenes in so many of our youth and community activities. Support those who support our future!

Every year, The Cinderella Effect is made possible because of the incredible people who pour their time, energy, and hearts into it. Our volunteers show up year after year with a love for community as big as the sun. They believe in building confidence in the youth of our community, and we could never pull this off without them. 💖

From hours of setup yesterday to aching feet and backs during takedown today, your dedication shines. Thank you to the student volunteers from Mr Trevor Peters class, my “second moms” Martha Koury, Nancy Blalock,Jess Hagan, Samantha Rowlands and Rebecca Edwards, my sister Desire Travis and all their kids who pitch in! Mrs. Janet who works magic on her sewing machine, my stepdad Curt Belton and brother Hunter Belton who handle all the heavy lifting, and Matthew Koury and his crew who made clean-up a breeze. And of course, my mom Kimberly Belton, who believes in this mission just as much as I do. Mr Mike Reese and his storage crew are the best keeping everything stored and safe all year. Mrs Lisa Haymon and everyone at Leesville High School support our mission and give us the space we need to make this happen in a place already so special to me and my family. Thank you to the Tanners for loaning us heavy machinery to make the move from storage so much easier! The dads who taught the guys how to tie a tie today- they saw a need and stepped in- thank you!

There are so many more of you who make this possible, and I am thankful for every single one. From the bottom of my heart — thank you for making The Cinderella Effect a reality year after year 🩵

✨ Every year, our hearts are renewed through this event. ✨ Watching girls walk around with confidence, lift each other up, and truly feel beautiful is the very reason The Cinderella Effect exists. Moments like these remind us why every ounce of effort is worth it. 💖

Because when girls look good, they feel good, they do good—and together, they shine even brighter. 🌟THIS is what the Cinderella Effect is!

A HUGE thank you to the Tanners who let us borrow their heavy equipment to move our storage boxes to the school. Without them, this process would take two days to move all the dresses by car. We were able to move all 4 storage boxes and have them unloaded by student volunteers in less than 2 hours!
It takes so much make this event happen and we could never pull it off without the help of the community!

We’re giving away FREE prom dresses, homecoming dresses, and menswear so every high school student can shine at their special night!

📍 Location: Leesville High School Cafeteria (lower end by baseball fields)
⏰ Time: 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM

✅ This event is ONLY for high school students attending prom or homecoming (NO pageants, NO weddings).
✅ Please bring your student ID or proof of enrollment to participate.
✅ This is our ONE & ONLY Cinderella Effect event for 2025 – don’t miss it!
