🐾🤍 VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT: ERIC 🤍🐾

Tonight we want to feature one of our incredible volunteers. Everyone’s story is unique, and we are so grateful for those who choose to volunteer with us! 😊

Eric is the Board President for Summit’s Sanctuary, and we’d love to share his story with you:

“I volunteer out of a love for dogs and a desire to help them when they are lost, abandoned or abused. I find Summit's a good way to help animals who can't help themselves get to a normal, loving life.

I have been able to help by working on kennel maintenance and helping to upgrade our facilities. We've had a particular focus on litters of puppies and mothers. It is always heartwarming and gratifying to see them grow and go to homes where they are appreciated.

I spent many years as an Air Force pilot traveling all over the world. Now I have a chance to settle down in a community and contribute to an issue that benefits the people who live here and meet a whole range of furry friends.”

THANK YOU, Eric, for believing in our dogs and dedicating your time & expertise with us at Summit’s Sanctuary. Because of you, so many of our dogs get the opportunity to begin their next chapter. 🥰

Sometimes, dog training isn’t about teaching commands. It’s about building trust, changing behaviors, and helping a dog learn that they no longer have to protect what they fear losing. ❤️

In this video, Dawn is working with a dog on food aggression, teaching him that he can feel safe and trust the person beside him. That’s what rehabilitation is all about!

Sweet Quiggle has been through so much. She recently underwent major surgery to remove twine that was wrapped around her tongue and had traveled into her stomach and intestines. She’s a fighter, but her medical expenses are adding up, and she needs our help now. 💕

🐾 Something exciting is happening, and Summit’s Sanctuary and I can’t wait to share it with you!

Thanks to all of you who have supported me, I skipped the wildcard round and advanced straight to the quarter-finals! Your support is making a difference, and this is only the beginning.

This morning, 12 more dogs left Summit’s Sanctuary on transport to their forever homes, bringing our total to 1,459 dogs rescued, rehabilitated, and adopted! ❤️🐶

This is what it’s all about. Second chances, new beginnings, and lives changed forever.

💕Happy Paw News for Vera now Venus💕

Vera now Venus on the sofa with her terrific new family.
The other dog is very gentle with her and per her new family he always is gentle with all dogs and people. Their 17-year-old mini pin died of old age. Vera will brings lots a joy and love back in the family.

💕Happy Paw News for Goldilocks now Dolly Jean💕

Dolly Jean has settled into her new home with remarkable ease. She’s getting along wonderfully with the other animals and has embraced every change with confidence and curiosity. Pet Dad said, “She’s an exceptionally smart pup who learns quickly and thrives with structure and affection.”
Her Pet Dad, a retired firefighter, shared that he wasn’t sure he and his wife could open their heart again after losing a deeply cherished companion. But the moment they saw Dolly Jean at a local event, something clicked. What began as a difficult chapter turned into a moment of hope and healing.
There was some understandable hesitation at first—bringing a new dog into the home after loss can be emotional—but Dolly Jean has exceeded every expectation. She’s blossomed into a loyal, intuitive partner and has become his constant companion as they enjoy retired life in Hokes Bluff.
Dolly Jean truly feels like the perfect new beginning for this family.
