We want to thank our speaker from Thursday, May 7, Ron Rhodes, Director of Programs for Connecticut River Conservancy. Ron opened his comments with an overview of the Connecticut River watershed. Key goals of CRC are clean water, healthy habitats, and resilient communities. Climate change is changing the stakes for the Connecticut River. We don’t worry only about spring runoff as we did in the old days when the river would rise and then fall. Today, mid-summer storms are causing extensive damage. Thank you Ron

Interact clubs from Lebanon High School, Mascoma Valley Regional School District and Windsor Southeast Supervisory Union sponsored a RISE Against Hunger Food Packaging event at Lebanon High School on May 1. Jake’s Market and Deli provide the catering. Rise Against Hunger is an international non-profit dedicated to ending global hunger through food distribution, community empowerment, and emergency response. The packages produced by volunteers at Lebanon High School will be distributed to food pantries around the Upper Valley.

We want to thank our speaker from Thursday, April 30, Nenia Ballard, Ms. Wheelchair New Hampshire 2026. Nenia will go to Michigan in August to compete for Ms. Wheelchair America. It’s not a beauty pageant. Its purpose is to give voice to disabled women, advocate for girls’ rights, accessibility, and inclusion. Thank you Nenia!
