Selfless service…the act of helping others with a pure heart, without expecting any award, recognition or return. Once again our Scouts embodied this principle in their support of the Samaritan’s Buffet alongside their friends from Cub Scout Pack 3109. Together they ensured over 425 meals were provided to the members of our community in need of assistance.

🍯 Oh bother! Due to the inclement weather forecast in the Hundred Acre Wood, the "100 Years of Winnie" program is rescheduled to August 8, 2026. Separately, our annual Scout Day program is also postponed to August 8.

For those whose reservations included paid admission, look to your email for information. Stay tuned for any updates about the Museum and Memorial's hours, as those may also be impacted.

Our friends with the Samaritan’s Buffet sent out a New Year request for assistance and our Scouts answered the call. They prepared, packaged and distributed over 500 meals to support the families of our town. Great job Scouts!

Scouting is an adventure! This past weekend our intrepid Scouts once again braved the frozen tundra to participate in a Scout Camporee at Camp Naish. Our Order of the Arrow (OA) Lodge put on an amazing event. Scouts participated in the low and high C.O.P.E. courses, marksmanship, archery, throwing knives and tomahawks, and craft classes. They also enjoyed fellowship with over 500 Scouts from more than 20 troops from Kansas and Missouri. Big shout out to the Tameginit Lodge for hosting such a great event!

A Scout is helpful! This past weekend our Scouts assisted in preparing, packaging and distributing over 600 meals for the underserved families of our community. They followed this by sleeping in below freezing temperatures in their makeshift homeless encampment.

Shawn brings a dedication to Scouting, a deep commitment to youth leadership, and a genuine passion for helping our Scouts grow in character, citizenship, and outdoor skills. His enthusiasm and mentorship will continue the strong tradition of Troop 173 — guiding Scouts to challenge themselves, serve others, and have fun along the way!
