A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for our VFW Post 1618 veteran picnic! It was a wonderful day of community and camaraderie.

We want to extend a special thank you to the talented musicians who provided such great entertainment throughout the event. We are also incredibly grateful to Petes Country Meats for their generous donation of the meats, and to Benny Boo’s BBQ for doing an amazing job smoking them to perfection—everything was delicious!

Finally, a heartfelt thank you to all our dedicated volunteers. Your hard work behind the scenes made this event a success, and we couldn’t have done it without you.

We look forward to seeing you all again soon!

🇺🇸💜 PURPLE HEART DAY – LAWRENCE COUNTY, TENNESSEE 💜🇺🇸

Today, we proudly recognize Purple Heart Day and are honored to announce that, through the efforts of David Crockett VFW Post 1618 working alongside Lawrence County Executive David Morgan, August 7 has officially been proclaimed Purple Heart Day in Lawrence County, Tennessee.

This proclamation is more than a document, it is a promise that the courage, sacrifice, and service of our Purple Heart recipients will never be forgotten. It ensures that our community takes time each year to recognize those who were wounded or killed while defending the freedoms we enjoy every day.

We extend our sincere appreciation to County Executive David Morgan for his support and for issuing this proclamation in honor of our nation's heroes.

To every Purple Heart recipient: Thank you. Your sacrifices have left a lasting impact on this nation, and we are forever grateful for your service.

We encourage everyone in our community to take a moment today to remember these American heroes and, if you know a Purple Heart recipient, thank them for their service and sacrifice.

If you are a Purple Heart recipient, or know someone who is, we would greatly appreciate it if you would send our page a private message. We have something we'd like to discuss with you and would be honored to speak with you personally.

Bringing holiday cheer to our Veterans.

A joint initiative by David Crockett VFW 1618 Post and The Knights of Columbus.

This holiday season, David Crockett VFW 1618 Post is partnering with The Knights of Columbus to give back to our local Veterans living in nursing homes. To make this Christmas special, the VFW will accept community donations every month beginning August 1st. Each month we will have a new donation list.

Let’s come together and bring community and cheer to those that served. 🇺🇸

🇺🇸 Happy Independence Day from David Crockett VFW Post 1618! 🇺🇸

Today, we celebrate the birth of the United States of America and the freedoms that make our nation unlike any other.

As Veterans of Foreign Wars, we know that our independence was secured not only in 1776, but has been defended by generations of brave Americans who answered the call to serve. Today, we honor every veteran, service member, and military family whose sacrifices have helped preserve the liberties we enjoy.

We also remember those who gave their lives in defense of our nation. Their courage and sacrifice will never be forgotten.

As you celebrate with family and friends, we encourage everyone to proudly display the American flag, reflect on the meaning of this day, and never take our freedom for granted.

Thank you to everyone joining us today as we collect photos, letters, and memories for our Time Capsule Project, which will be opened on July 4, 2076, during America's 300th birthday celebration. Today's memories will become tomorrow's history.
