Mark your calendars 🗓️

David Crockett VFW Post 1618 is honored to be partnering with our local Tractor Supply for the Saturday, November 7th Hometown Heroes Event. 🇺🇸

This is a tentative poster/flyer for the event, so things are subject to change. This is mostly just a feeler post and information gather for a Chili Cookoff.

Saturday, November 7th, your local TSC Is hosting a Hometown Heroes event and partnering with our local VFW Post 1618. This is something that is near and dear to my heart since I am a Veteran and I'm one of the managers at your TSC.

So, I'm trying to get some info and maybe some possible volunteer things. I'm thinking I would like maybe 2-3 food trucks on site, some vendors to set up and sell knick knacks, canned/pickled goods, art, etc. I would ask vendors/food vendors to maybe put a separate jar out for people to put donations in. ALL donations will be going to support our VFW here in town.

Rules and specifics will be posted once I get all the details hammered out. We will not be charging for any chili bowls, but would simply ask for a donation. Chili entries may go up! Right now it's 10, but we shall see.

You may contact me through messenger on here and then probably through phone as we get closer to the date. I'm really excited to be able to do this for my brothers and sisters in arms and I hope you all will be too!

✉️ Please contact Dan Bumgardner for any questions.

🇺🇸🎡 VFW POST 1618 — A LAWRENCE COUNTY TRADITION! 🇺🇸🎡

Last night was a great night, and tonight we’re doing it again! Come out and see VFW Post 1618 at the Middle Tennessee District Fair and enjoy Bouncing Betsy!

For generations, Bouncing Betsy has been more than just a ride or attraction — it has become a part of Lawrence County history. Ask around Lawrence County and you’ll hear the stories: parents who remember playing on Bouncing Betsy, grandparents who took their children, and now families bringing another generation to make those same memories.

There may not be an exact date that anyone can point to and say, “This is when Bouncing Betsy became a tradition,” but that’s part of what makes it special. Generation after generation has grown up with it. It has become one of those familiar pieces of the fair that brings back memories of childhood and time spent with family.

Tonight, VFW Post 1618 is proud to be part of that continuing tradition.

🇺🇸 Bring your family.
🎡 Make some memories.
❤️ Share some old ones.
🤝 Support your local VFW.

Come see us tonight at the Middle Tennessee District Fair for Bouncing Betsy!
