Wednesday's adoption appointments led to ten lady ratties going to their .

- A pair of girls went to a Moorpark College student for class.

- Five girls also went to a Moorpark College student! This also cleared a cage. One of the girls was a recent add to our rescue as she was found abandoned in an apartment complex in Bellflower. Thankfully, the other four girls welcomed her to the mischief and now everyone gets to stay together!

- Three ladies go to a young lady whose mom once had rats. We're happy to see another generation experience the happiness these little critters bring.

We still have more rats! Please help us clear more cages!

Don't worry, we're doing our best to keep everyone cool during this uncharacteristic heat wave. It's not easy, but our volunteers are very creative and understand basic thermodynamics. 💪🏻🐀🧊

Wednesday belonged to the boys.

We had eight happy dudes find their yesterday. Notably, four brothers from the same cage went to two different families while four little guys who helped us out at the Discovery Cube on Sunday will stay together with their new family.

People come from far and wide to see us. We appreciate the distance (and the counties) that many of our adopters travel from to acquire rats from us, and we hope that they'll continue to make you happy!

We sent these two young sisters to their new family today.

They are ready to commit trouble. And make it double.

We have advised the young gentleman who will be caring for them that they have a propensity to engage in debates in geopolitics. Come with notes.

This has been a very productive Sunday! ICYMI we had opening day for Fall programming at Discovery Cube . Because of that, our founder, Christine, traveled over there super early to showcase SBRR as the day's community partner on KTLA 5 News morning programming. We're excited to kick off our fifth year spreading all the rat love here.

That said, there are times where we can leverage the Cube's location to help us facilitate pre-approved rat adoptions. We have many previous adopters in the San Fernando Valley, and in this case, we sent two of the baby boys that we brought with us to their new forever home today! We'd like to reiterate that our off-site events aren't adoption events and this was a special case. Also, it's fun when the adopter was like, "Can I have the rat that was on TV with you?"

We had two more Moorpark College students swing by this evening to take home four of the young girl rats who hung out at the Cube today! They definitely got a bunch of miles in a very short period of time.

We sent 11 ratties to college! Thank you to the Moorpark College students for swinging by to adopt your academic (and life) companions.

We "transferred" two ladies to a student after their first family ran into unexpected later onset allergies (this happens, unfortunately) and wanted to send them to Higher Ed so they can continue their studies in advanced rodentistry.

We'll see you tomorrow at Discovery Cube from 10am-2pm! Tune in to KTLA on Sunday morning to watch their coverage of the opening festivities to Spooky Science!
