A historic partnership is underway between NFBPA South Florida and Florida Memorial University, the only HBCU in South Florida.

We recently met with FMU President William McCormick to discuss creating a direct pipeline from college to career through mentorship, leadership development, professional networking, and workforce readiness opportunities.

FMU has committed to an inaugural cohort of 40 students who will receive access to NFBPA South Florida’s network of public service and industry leaders, helping them build the skills, connections, and confidence needed to thrive in their careers.

Together, we are investing in the next generation of leaders before they enter the workforce and creating opportunities that will have a lasting impact for years to come.

The event brought together leaders, professionals, advocates, and residents to learn about issues that impact our communities and to discuss how informed engagement can help strengthen civic participation and public service.

As an organization committed to leadership development and public service, NFBPA South Florida values opportunities that encourage education, dialogue, and community connection.
