Happy Juneteenth! ❤️🖤💚

Today we celebrate freedom, resilience, and the enduring spirit of those who fought for liberation and equality. Juneteenth is a time to honor history, reflect on the progress we've made, and recognize the work that continues to build a more inclusive future for all.

May we continue to learn, uplift one another, and celebrate the strength of our communities.

In observance of this holiday, Your CFSNM will be closed and will resume normal business hours Monday, June 22nd.

As we continue celebrating Pride Month, we recognize the people, partnerships, and resources that help create a more inclusive and welcoming Southern New Mexico for all. 🌈

The Charles T. Townley and Victor T. Roberts LGBTQIA+ Fund was established to support organizations that are making a meaningful difference in the lives of LGBTQIA+ individuals and families throughout our region. Through annual grantmaking, the fund helps advance programs focused on health and wellness, education, advocacy, arts and culture, community development, and social support. These grants help strengthen the work of nonprofit organizations that are fostering belonging, expanding opportunities, and creating positive change within our communities.

We are grateful to Charles and Victor for their vision behind this fund and for the nonprofit partners whose work helps build a brighter future for Southern New Mexico.

Together, we are supporting a community where everyone has the opportunity to be seen, valued, and thrive. ✨

Our hearts are full after an amazing evening! Together, we raised $13,000 at Corazónes in Action!

During this event, we were able to support all three participating organizations! El Caldito received the most votes of the evening and was awarded $10,000, Boys and Girls Club of Las Cruces received $2,000, and Luna Star Fine Arts Studio was awarded $1,000 as part of this milestone event.

Because all nonprofits make a meaningful difference in our communities, a $100 bonus impact award was also given as part of the event. Nominations took place during the event by community, and Conservation Corps of New Mexico was randomly drawn to receive the gift.

This night of impact was made possible by the collective efforts of our wonderful community who came together to support regional nonprofit work, as well as a generous gift from the Josefa Jiron Chavez Foundation Fund held within CFSNM. A special thank you to Ice Box Brewing Co. for being such an amazing partner and to Avery Johnson for providing live music for us throughout the night.

A special thank you to the Corazónes in Action Committee for their dedication and support in planning this event.

Because of you, local nonprofits can continue to nurture, inspire, and strengthen our communities!

We continue to honor the legacy of Kevin T. Riedel as we celebrate the Endowment Anniversary of the Kevin T. Riedel Memorial Scholarship Endowment Fund. ⚽

Kevin was a devoted referee with the Las Cruces Soccer Referee Association and a proud soccer dad whose love for the game and his community left a lasting impact. His spirit continues to inspire all who knew him. With the ongoing support of his family, the Kevin T. Riedel Memorial Scholarship helps students involved in the Las Cruces Soccer Referee Association or Las Cruces Youth Soccer Association take the next step in their journey through higher education.

Emily, a 2025 scholarship recipient stated, “I’m incredibly honored to receive the Kevin T. Riedel Memorial Scholarship—this support not only helps me pursue my civil engineering education but also encourages me to keep giving back through the soccer community I love."

Grantee Spotlight! 🌟

Recently, our Grants & Scholarships Coordinator, Valeria, had the opportunity to visit Camp Invention, a 2025 Devasthali Family Foundation Fund Grantee.

Camp Invention helps students in grades K-6 stay engaged in learning during the summer while building creativity, problem-solving skills, and confidence. By combating summer learning loss and introducing students to hands-on STEM experiences, the program helps prepare young people for future success in school, careers, and beyond.

Developed by the National Inventors Hall of Fame, Camp Invention brings STEM to life through engaging, hands-on activities that encourage creativity, innovation, and teamwork. The program empowers students to think critically, explore new ideas, and discover their potential as future innovators and leaders.

Established in 2011 by Drs. Ammu and Rama Devasthali, the Devasthali Family Foundation Fund supports initiatives focused on education, the arts, and child hunger throughout southern New Mexico. Through investments in programs like Camp Invention, the fund helps create opportunities that strengthen communities across the twelve counties served by CFSNM.

A special thank you to the Devasthali Family for their generosity and vision. Their commitment to expanding educational opportunities is making a lasting difference for children, families, and communities throughout Southern New Mexico.
