Happy Anniversary to the Rural Roots Endowment! 🌱

Created by American AgCredit in partnership with Your CFSNM, the Rural Roots Endowment continues to uplift individuals and organizations dedicated to ensuring the long-term viability, sustainability, and profitability of New Mexico agriculture.

In 2025, $234,000 was distributed to support New Mexico agricultural organizations!

Through the Rural Roots Endowment, communities across all New Mexico counties are impacted by:
🐄 Supporting youth programs like FFA, 4-H, livestock shows, and scholarships
🥕 Promoting and protecting New Mexico agriculture
🌽 Fighting hunger in our communities
🍎 Advancing agricultural education statewide

The next Rural Roots Endowment grant cycle will open again in 2027! Stay tuned for more information on how to apply and join us in making a lasting impact on New Mexico agriculture.

Today, we celebrate the Endowment Anniversary of the Ngage New Mexico Fund! ❤️

This fund supports Ngage New Mexico’s mission to advance the well-being of people throughout Southern New Mexico by creating greater access to educational opportunities and resources for children and families.

One example is Vamos Niños: Play to Learn, a mobile children’s museum and resource center that brings opportunities to learn, play, and explore directly into our communities. Through engaging, hands-on experiences, the program connects families with valuable resources while helping make quality early childhood learning more accessible to children across Southern New Mexico.

Ngage New Mexico also works alongside other local agencies and organizations to create opportunities, strengthen communities, and help more people thrive.

Get the Grant {Advanced}, hosted by The Grant Plant, is a comprehensive three-day in person series that is a masterclass for intermediate to experienced grant professionals.

This is an advanced, in-depth exploration designed for those ready to master the complexities of grant acquisition, especially for proposals to public agencies and large foundations. The training includes topic instruction, activities, and demonstration. Participants will receive a workbook and digital toolkit with practical strategies to manage detailed projects efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Today, we celebrate the enduring legacy of Clarence H. Fielder through the Clarence H. Fielder Memorial Scholarship! ❤️🎓

A beloved and influential member of the Las Cruces community, Clarence H. Fielder dedicated decades to education and advocacy, founding the African American History Program at New Mexico State University in 1970, and teaching until 2010. His passion for education and commitment to uplifting others continue to make a lasting impact through this scholarship, which supports African American students pursuing higher education at community colleges, technical colleges, and universities across New Mexico.

The scholarship honors his legacy by carrying forward his mission of empowering students and opening doors to brighter futures.

The 2026 recipient, Nevaeh, shared, “I'm honored and thankful for this support. I'm so grateful and excited to use it to build a brighter future.”

As we celebrate another anniversary of this fund, we continue to honor a legacy that continues to inspire, uplift, and invest in the next generation of leaders. Clarence H. Fielder’s impact lives on through every student supported and every dream encouraged. 💙

A little kindness can make a BIG impact! 🐾

For the second year, the The Schumacher Grant , held within CFSNM, and Schumacher Vet Clinic partnered with Casa de Peregrinos (Emergency Food Program) to provide an incredible 4,359 aid bags for pets and their humans throughout our community! That’s more than double the 1,500 bags provided during the drive’s first year in 2025.

Through this growing partnership, the Pet Food Drive continues to expand its reach and provide an important resource for pets and the people who love and care for them.

We’re incredibly grateful to every donor, volunteer, and partner who helped make this possible. A special thank-you to the Schumacher Grant and Schumacher Vet Clinic for their continued commitment to animal welfare and for helping make this initiative possible.

A special shoutout to Nancy, who generously volunteered her time to coordinate the Pet Food Drive! She was there for every distribution and packing day throughout the two-month drive, helping to make this incredible effort a success!

The Schumacher Grant was created to support animal welfare initiatives throughout Southern New Mexico. Led by advisors Dr. Kyle Schumacher and Todd Harper, the grant brings together donors, community partners, and advocates who share a commitment to improving the health and well-being of animals and the people who care for them.

The growth of this initiative is a beautiful reminder of what can happen when generosity meets purpose. We look forward to the continued impact of this work and are so grateful to everyone who helps this mission grow!❤️🐾

Your CFSNM is taking on the Ice Bucket Challenge!

Thank you ABQ Community Foundation for nominating Dr. Terra Winter and Nusenda Credit Union for bringing back this challenge!

We’re joining the Ice Bucket Challenge to help raise awareness for ALS and bring more attention to the individuals and families whose lives are impacted by this disease. ALS is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells responsible for controlling voluntary muscle movement, and increased awareness can help support research, advocacy, and those living with ALS.

Of course, no Ice Bucket Challenge would be complete without passing the challenge along! Tag you’re it!
