The Refuge The Refuge Restoration Center helps those who are experiencing homelessness in Lapeer County regain their foundation to independence.

With the direct support of local churches and volunteers, The Refuge will provide housing, food, clothing, educational and/or vocational training, basic life skills, and spiritual guidance. The Refuge also depends on partnerships with other services, agencies, and programs throughout the county to achieve our vision.

πŸ’™ What Guides Us: Our Values

At The Refuge, everything we do is rooted in three simple values:

🀝 Dignity First β€” Every person is treated with respect, warmth, and genuine care, regardless of belief.

🏠 A Safe Place β€” We provide a secure, welcoming environment where guests can rest, recover, and plan their next step.

πŸ™ Church Powered β€” Partner churches, volunteers, and neighbors make our work possible. It’s Lapeer taking care of Lapeer. πŸ’™

Together, we’re creating a community where people can find refuge, support, and a path forward.

A reminder that mental health matters just as much as physical health. Take a moment to check in with yourself, reach out to someone you love, and remember: it’s okay to ask for help. 🫢

You never know what someone else may be carrying. Lead with kindness, listen without judgment, and remind those around you that they’re not alone. πŸ’š

Your mental health matters today and every day. 🌿
