**Read before arrival** We will be inspecting tanks before filling them. We will have the ability to visually inspect the tanks and recertify if they pass visual. If they do not pass visual, we will not be able to
Transportation safety**🚗🚗
1. Upon arrival, remain in your vehicle. Do not off-load your tanks until you are instructed by TPPRF or an authorized volunteer. We will form a "drive-thru" type system to help move things along.
2. 📦⬆️ Keep Tanks Upright: Always transport propane tanks in an upright position. This helps maintain the integrity of the valve and prevents leaks. ⬆️📦
3. 🪢📦 Secure the Tanks: Use heavy-duty straps, bungee cords, or ratchet straps to secure the tanks in your vehicle. This prevents them from shifting or rolling during transport. 📦🪢
4. 🚗🚙Choose the Right Vehicle: Open trailers or pickup trucks are recommended for transporting propane tanks. Enclosed vehicles, like cars or SUVs, have stricter regulations and should only carry a limited number of tanks. **Volunteers WILL NOT load into an enclosed vehicle** 🚗🚙
5. ⛔⚠️🚫Know the Limits: For enclosed vehicles, you can transport up to four propane tanks, with a maximum of 90 pounds total. In open vehicles, you can transport up to 1,000 pounds of propane. 🚫⚠️⛔
6. 🌀🪟Ventilation: Ensure that the vehicle is well-ventilated, especially when transporting tanks in enclosed spaces. Avoid leaving propane tanks in a closed vehicle, particularly on hot days, to prevent pressure buildup. 🪟🌀
7. 🔍🧐 Inspect Before Transport: Please remove all plastic wrapping, etc on your tanks prior to inspection. Check for leaks or damages on the propane tanks before loading them. Use a soapy water solution to test for leaks and ensure all valve caps are intact. 🧐🔍
8. 🚭🚭 NO SMOKING!!: Do not smoke or have open flames near propane tanks during transport. Propane is highly flammable, and even a small spark can lead to a fire or explosion. 🚭🚭
9. 🤝🙋Transporting Large Tanks: For larger tanks, always have assistance when loading them into your vehicle. Ensure that the area is clear of sharp objects that could puncture the cylinder. 🙋🤝
