Most people picture transmission lines as small structures somewhere off in the distance.

But many Texans have never seen the true scale of a proposed 765-kV transmission tower.

Depending on the design, these structures can reach approximately 160–190 feet in height — comparable to or taller than the Statue of Liberty from ground level to torch.

When infrastructure reaches this scale, the impact extends far beyond the tower itself.

Before a single line is energized, construction can require:
• Large excavation sites
• Foundation drilling
• Heavy equipment access
• Cleared construction corridors
• New access roads
• Ongoing vegetation management

This is industrial-scale infrastructure crossing rural land, ranches, farmland, and private property.

The conversation should not begin after the towers are standing.

It should begin before permanent decisions are made.
