The North West Florida Prescribed Burn Association (NWFPBA) hosted an event in Marianna, Florida for landowners focused on the benefits of prescribed fire for wildlife.

NWFPBA is a Florida 501(c)(3) nonprofit of landowners and conservation-minded partners working to expand prescribed fire on the landscape.

Quail Forever Acting State Coordinator Nick Reynolds shared the benefits of prescribed fire for bobwhite quail, native plant communities, and overall ecosystem health.

Thank you to the NWFPBA for the invitation to help further our mission to educate landowners on wildlife habitat management and environmental conservation.

The Red Hills Chapter Hands-on Habitat event was a success! 🪓

Local volunteers spent the morning treating invasive trees and releasing young longleaf pines from competing vegetation. 🌱

A big thank you to the volunteers who spent their Saturday creating habitat for wildlife and making a lasting impact on the landscape. 🌿

Join us for a hands-on habitat workday focused on improving upland habitat for quail and other wildlife. 🦃

Volunteers will actively treat invasive plants and help create quality habitat on the ground. Along the way, you’ll learn how these species impact the landscape and what it takes to restore healthy habitat. 🌱

Join Red Hills Quail Forever for a Hands-On Habitat Work Day at Old Tortoise Hunt Club — the same property where we host our youth and first-time hunter outreach hunts. Come see what we're working to protect and help us keep it that way.
We'll tackle invasive plants and walk the property to see firsthand what healthy upland habitat looks like — from gopher tortoise burrows to native wiregrass.

What to expect:

🐢 Property tour featuring gopher tortoise habitat & wiregrass ecosystem
