Quail Forever in Florida enjoyed touring several beautiful properties with Alachua Conservation Trust during their annual landowner tours.

🌿 Landowner Spotlight: Pineywoods Plantation 🌿

We’re excited to start highlighting some of the private landowners across Florida who are putting in the work to improve habitat and manage their properties for wildlife.

Our first spotlight is in Escambia County at Pineywoods Plantation. We recently had the opportunity to visit this 160-acre property and see firsthand the work being done for northern bobwhite, gopher tortoises, and other wildlife.

This is essentially a one-person operation. With some help from members of the North Florida Prescribed Burn Association, this landowner is putting in the work to improve and maintain habitat on a relatively small property.

Hopefully, this spotlight can show other landowners that you don’t need thousands of acres to make a difference for wildlife.

Red Hills Quail Forever is hosting the Roger Bell Memorial Outreach Hunt, a Learn to Hunt event for youth and first-time hunters who've never been quail hunting.

Our Youth Learn to Hunt events are all about getting outside, learning new skills, and having fun in the field. With hands-on instruction, a focus on safety, and an exciting first hunt behind good dogs, participants build confidence, connect with the land, and make memories that last a lifetime.
