So we got a call back in March about a little girl 5 months old needing help . She had a foster but they wanted her to go to a rescue. Ms. Jessie has SAS . Grade 6 of 6 murmur and so young. She was picked up and stayed with fosters as she moved her way south. We finally got her in last week to get an echocardiogram and confirmed her diagnosis. We didn’t have a chance to advertise her at all due to waiting to hear her diagnosis before her discussion began of adoption. Could this be your new baby ?? What expenses will need to be covered? How is her life going to be affected? What are her needs for her future??? Will we be able to give this baby everything she needs??? We decided that we needed all these answers to make sure that all her adoptive families had the exact same information too all these questions. We wanted everyone informed so they could decide what Jessie’s needs were before pursuing the adoption process. Jessie was confirmed with the diagnosis of SAS. It was also determined she would need echocardiograms every 6 months to make sure her situation doesn’t change. She’s extremely small and. It’s due to the diagnosis. However she is not symptomatic at all. The doctors feel as long as she stays small she may stay non symptomatic. They had some other suggestions to make this precious babies life as wonderful as possible. Treat the dog not the lab work…. She had so many homes that touched her life and wanted to adopt her . So we started the process of calling all possible adopters and discussing the needs and expenses that they would need to meet to make her part of their family. Jessie has now been adopted by someone that loves her and will spoil her every day of her life. We can’t do this without sponsors, fosters, volunteers for transit, and countless hours of phone support. When I say it takes a village let me say a hard Thankyou to all of the families stepping up to help us far and wide. Jessie was adopted just as soon as we had all the knowledge to make her adoption possible. She will be given everything for whatever time she has. So let’s make every Dogue de Bordeaux feel like Royalty and give them the opportunity to have a wonderful follow up story to their new lives as well . Please Donate time , money, consider fostering, or transport. Any donations are Tax deductible and a receipt will be given.
