This puppy was found about a month ago, and his finder has been trying to get him somewhere safe ever since.

He’s just under 6 months old, and we want to bring him into rescue but we need a foster home to make that possible.
One foster saying “I’ve got him” means we get to say “Yes, we can help.” 💙

Who can be his yes? 🏡🐶

Francis went on a doggie date today and absolutely nailed it. 🥹💗

She went to Harry’s for a patio lunch… and proceeded to sleep through basically the entire thing. 😂 Senior girl priorities.

Francis is truly such a prize. She loves everyone 💗 dogs, cats, kids, people. She’s sweet, easygoing, and just wants to be included.

But the part that got us?

When her doggie date was over, Francis watched them leave… and she wanted to go too. 💔

She’s ready for HER person to pull up and say, “Come on, Francis. You’re coming home.”

We love, love, LOVE this girl and we know you will too.

Someone please scoop up our sweet senior girl. 🥹🐾

💔 Samuel is at VHA getting a blood transfusion today because of hookworms.

Read that again.

One of the little cattle dog puppies we picked up last night is now hospitalized at VHA with severe anemia. His hematocrit is 8. His gums are WHITE. He is loaded with hookworms, and despite everything we did overnight, his little body needs more help than we can give him at the rescue. He is exhausted and cannot stand.

His first blood transfusion is starting, and there is a very real possibility he will need more than one.

The estimate: $4,300–$4,500.

We just paid the 75% deposit.

And we’re going to say it… we’re angry.

This is what happens when puppies are born without anyone making sure they are healthy, dewormed, vaccinated and cared for. Backyard breeding.

Everyone loves puppies.

Until they’re sick.
Until they’re expensive.
Until someone has to stay up all night trying to keep them alive.
Until a $4,500 estimate lands on the table.

Then who worries about them?

Us.

There are already more puppies than rescues and shelters can keep up with. We don’t need more unwanted litters being born just to fight for their lives weeks later. We battle intestinal parasites constantly as it’s the condition these puppies are coming to us in. Puppies can die from worms.

So today, we fight like hell for this little boy. ❤️‍🩹

THIS is Ginger outside the shelter. 🥹❤️

Ginger came to us June 27, 2025, on a catch pole from under a van. She wanted nothing to do with us.

And it has been a JOURNEY.

She was the hose destroyer. The leash grabber. The girl who didn’t know how to trust and needed us to give her time.

And we did.

More than a year later, Ginger finally got the chance to leave the facility for a temporary foster home.

And look what happened.

She chases lizards. 🦎
She has post-poop zoomies. 😂
She gives face kisses.
She’s discovered the recliner and couch.
She’s meeting new people with curiosity instead of fear.
She plays with toys, runs around the backyard and is learning how wonderful being someone’s dog can be.

It has been night and day.

Now we desperately don’t want Ginger to have to come back to the facility.

She needs a patient forever home that will continue showing her that the world is safe. She is 2/3 years old and a great couch size at 45lbs. No cats, and any canine sibling should be easygoing with slow, steady introductions and time. It could be even faster. She’s been such a doll out of the shelter!

Sometimes the dog you see in a kennel isn’t the dog at all.

Ginger just needed a home to show us who she really was. ❤️

Now she needs one to keep her.

Update: one of the puppies is currently at VHA hospital for blood transfusions and over night hospitalization for hookworms.. his blood value is critical and he cannot stand up.

💔 The message sounded dire. Two 4 month old puppies were fading quickly possibly with Parvo..

They had been living outside, unwanted and someone took them in to help. Fast forward a month to tonight they reached out because they were not doing well medically to the point they were crashing.

So at 9 PM on a Saturday night, one of our amazing employees Courtney volunteered to get in the car, drive over and pick them up. That’s a BIG deal. ❤️

Both puppies are dehydrated and receiving fluids. They vomited large amounts of worms in the car and are being dewormed. We immediately Parvo tested them and thankfully, they are negative at this moment. 🙏

Tonight, they’re being cared for medically and we’re going to do everything we can to get them through this.
