Florida Wing is celebrating a historic achievement as two cadets have earned the General Carl A. Spaatz Award in the same week.

Cadet Colonel Davis Dillinger has earned the General Carl A. Spaatz Award, the highest honor attainable in the Civil Air Patrol Cadet Program and an achievement earned by fewer than one-half of one percent of cadets nationwide.

Over four years as a member of the North Tampa-Lutz Cadet Squadron, Cadet Col. Dillinger has exemplified excellence, perseverance, and servant leadership. His journey through Civil Air Patrol has been defined not only by extraordinary personal achievement, but by an unwavering dedication to emergency services, search and rescue, and mentoring the next generation of cadet leaders.

Cadet Col. Dillinger has dedicated countless hours to mastering emergency services skills while teaching and mentoring hundreds of cadets through the Ranger Program and search and rescue community. Through his leadership at activities across the country, he has inspired cadets to pursue excellence in ground operations, survival training, and servant leadership while helping cultivate a passion for emergency services far beyond Florida Wing.

His accomplishments reflect both his personal dedication and his commitment to developing others. He earned Honor Graduate distinctions at both the Pararescue and Survival Orientation Course and Hawk Mountain Ranger School’s Advanced Course and Staff Training Course, achievements that demonstrate exceptional skill, endurance, and leadership in demanding environments.

His commitment to service and readiness was further recognized through the Civil Air Patrol Lifesaving Award, and his appointment to the United States Military Academy at West Point, Class of 2030, stands as a testament to the caliber of leader he has become.

“Civil Air Patrol has truly shaped me into who I am today,” said Dillinger. “Without the challenges to overcome and opportunities to grow and excel, I would not be where I am right now.”

Congratulations, Cadet Col. Davis Dillinger, Spaatz #2636.

Florida Wing is celebrating an extraordinary and historic achievement as two cadets have earned the General Carl A. Spaatz Award in the same week.

The General Carl A. Spaatz Award is the highest achievement in the Civil Air Patrol Cadet Program and is earned by fewer than one-half of one percent of cadets nationwide. Achieving this milestone requires years of dedication, resilience, leadership, academic excellence, and physical fitness.

Florida Wing proudly congratulates Cadet Colonel. Elyes Beloulehi, Spaatz Award recipient #2635, who currently serves at the Fort Lauderdale Composite Squadron.
Cadet Col. Beloulehi currently serves as the Florida Wing Cadet Advisory Council Chairman and Florida’s primary representative to the Southeast Region Cadet Advisory Council. Throughout his cadet career, he has demonstrated exceptional leadership across every level of the program, serving as Squadron Cadet Commander, Group IX CAC Chairman, encampment cadre member, and leadership instructor.
His commitment to excellence has taken him across the nation through multiple premier CAP activities, including National Legislative Day, Cadet Officer School, National Flight Academy, and the National Emergency Services Academy.

Cadet Col. Beloulehi is also a graduate of Cadet Wings, graduate #462, and holds a CAP VFR Pilot rating. In addition, he is recognized as a Florida Wing Cadet Honor Society Member of Distinction, member #664.
Beyond Civil Air Patrol, he has contributed more than 240 hours of community service while continuing to pursue his passion for aviation, leadership, and service to others.

Earning the Spaatz Award represents more than completing achievements. It symbolizes years of perseverance, sacrifice, mentorship, and the ability to lead by example while inspiring others along the way.

Florida Wing proudly celebrates Cadet Col. Beloulehi for this remarkable accomplishment and welcomes him into the distinguished legacy of Spaatz cadets who continue to shape the future of aerospace, military service, and leadership in our nation. Congratulations!

Lake and DeLand Composite Squadrons Cadets and Seniors spent part of their Sunday learning Firearm Safety and practicing their Marksmanship at the Hernando Sportmans Club. Safety was #1 across the board, and the Range Masters were great working with the Cadets.

Huge shout out to Lake Comp Commander Lt Col Joyner for setting this up.

Ahead of the Fort Lauderdale Air Show, Group 9 cadets and seniors received a special behind-the-scenes experience with the F-22 Raptor Demo Team during an exclusive VIP tour of the Lockheed Martin F-22 Raptor — one of the most advanced fighter aircraft in the world.

Cadets and Seniors were given rare access to the aircraft, where the demo team showcased key components of the F-22 and took time to answer questions about its capabilities, mission, and operations. It was a unique opportunity to get up close with one of the Air Force’s premier aircraft and learn directly from the professionals who fly and maintain it.

Members from Boca Raton Composite Squadron, Coral Springs Cadet Squadron, Raptor Composite Squadron, Pines-Miramar Composite Squadron, and Fort Lauderdale Composite Squadron participated in this exclusive opportunity, coordinated by Maj. Amon Russell.

Thank you to the F-22 Raptor Demo Team for taking the time to inspire the next generation of aviation and military leaders through experiences our cadets will never forget.
