We recognize that parents are the first professionals of their child and that children are doing the best they can given the skill set that they currently have. Specializing in young children, ages birth through elementary school, we work together through play to increase skill sets, improve attachments, and have fun together! "My Why"

a bit of a long post....

If you know me (Elizabeth), then you know that when I hear a song I like, I begin to listen to it incessantly (obsessively, actually, to the dismay of my nuclear family).

After watching Hadestown at the Raue this summer (shout out to all the teens performing), I have been stuck on this soundtrack.

In the song "If it's true," the young and previously idealist Orpheus is desperate and defeated, leaving Hadestown without the love of his life and no one seeming to listen to him.

And then.

The workers, who have been in a trance, suddenly speak up - they hear his pleas - they come together - and they stand with him.

This quote is Orpheus reuniting with his light for the world, with others at his back.

My vision for Nurturing Village, my "why", has always been this quote.
I believe in us together.
and I thank you for standing with me.

I hope and pray I can always stand with you.

shoulder guards

I peeled my shoulders away from my ears tonight and let them sink down where they belong

They seemed hell-bent to hold up the weight of the world

in reality
They just hold
The tension
Created between those ears
that presents as perseveration

An imprisoned brain
Does not benefit from shoulder guards
Breathe
Release

That cage is familiar
