Rahmah Interfaith Food Pantry (RIFP), with locations in Lake Villa and Niles, is on a mission to transform lives with compassion. We're not just providing food, household items, clothing, and referrals; we're nurturing a stronger, healthier, and more equitable community for our low-income residents.
Last week was incredibly productive at the Rahmah Interfaith Food Pantry (RIFP). Our dedicated members and volunteers sprang into action, unloading, organizing, and distributing food. In a remarkable effort, we packed over 15,500 pounds of food, equivalent to 9,750 meals for Lake County families. Our outreach extended to more than 670 families/households, impacting over 1,000 individuals. We also made special deliveries to senior living residences and low-income housing complexes. Remember, every dollar donated directly supports our mission - acquiring essential ethnic foods and maintaining the pantry. We proudly stand as the leading local hunger-relief charity organization in Lake County, Illinois.
Our community members received a bounty of groceries, including eggs, potatoes, cabbage, oranges, pears, apples, assorted meats, cereal, canned goods, onions, flour, oil, butter, snacks, salad greens, mixed salads, bread, macaroni and cheese, rice, dairy products, cereal bars, seasonal veggies, fruits, and so much more 🥔🥬🍞🍊🍎. A heartfelt thanks goes out to all our incredible volunteers! 👍👏👏👏
Here's how we operate: RIFP operates as a compassionate and well-organized grocery store, where clients have the liberty to select items from our shelves, tables, and coolers/freezers to fill their boxes or bags.
We are a client-choice pantry, serving on a first-come, first-served basis. Arrive early, secure a number, and join the line. Rest assured, we'll welcome you in as swiftly as possible.
Our distribution happens every Friday and Saturday without any barriers - it's open to all who seek our assistance, no questions asked, and no registration required. We're also available on Lake County 211, around the clock, delivering food to callers' addresses day and night.
The Rahmah Interfaith Food Pantry deeply appreciates the financial and in-kind contributions it receives.
