Lamont Community Clean Up! Sunday August 25th, 2024 from 6am-10am. Meet up location is 10420 Myrtle Ave. Lamont, Ca. 93241 at the local Adventist Church Hall. We hope to see you there! Food will be provided for volunteers.

On Saturday, May 25th, the Arvin & Lamont Kiwanis Club hosted its 1st Annual Scholarship Awards in honor of Mayor Olivia Trujillo who founded the club two years ago. The Club awarded a total of 42 scholarships to 24 high school graduates and 18 middle school and elementary school students from Arvin and Lamont. High school graduates — who are pursuing higher education — received $500 scholarships and middle school and elementary school students — who were nominated by their school principals — received $100 scholarships.

In honor of Mayor Olivia Trujillo’s love, dedication and service to her community, the Arvin & Lamont Kiwanis Club awarded Salvador Moreno — a student who exemplifies academic excellence and service-leadership — with the “Olivia Trujillo Legacy Scholarship Award” and a scholarship of $1000.

By celebrating the value of education and academic success, the Arvin & Lamont Kiwanis Club aims to inspire children and youth to dream big, study hard and graduate from both high school and college. Kiwanis is a global organization whose mission is “One child at a time, one neighborhood at a time.”

Welcome to Arvin, Kiwanis Division 33 Clubs! The Arvin Lamont Kiwanis Club May 2024 Division Council Meeting was filled with joy, laughter and camaraderie. Arvin Lamont Kiwanis Club was able to host Lt. Governor Kinsey and Division 33 Club Leaders and members. Working together to make a difference through shared projects and ideas that are impacting our communities one child at a time one neighborhood at a time.

Making a difference “One Community at A Time”!Kiwanians in action in Arvin, California. Our Arvin Lamont Kiwanis Club joined forces with Avanza Arvin (Nonprofit Org.)to do the first official Adopt a Highway clean up. Kiwanian Olivia led a team of volunteers to clean Bear Mt. Blvd. and make the City of Arvin whose motto is “A Garden in the Sun” look beautiful.

The Arvin-Lamont Kiwanis Club joined the Delano Kiwanis Club in the CAL-NEV-HA District Governor’s annual visit in Delano. At the meeting 2 members Jose Gonzales and Eduardo Delgado of the Arvin-Lamont Kiwanis Club received the Distinguished Service Awards for their contributions in the 2023/24 year.

The Arvin-Lamont Kiwanis Club has partnered up with the Greater Lamont Chamber of Commerce, East Bakersfield Rotary Club and CA Assemblywoman Dr. Bains to provide Scholarships for the graduating class of 2024. If you are a student or know of a student from the Arvin-Lamont area that is a graduating senior encourage them to apply (ex. Arvin High School, Nueva High School, Del Oro High School and Mira Monte High School). The application deadline will be Sunday May 12th. Notification of award will be Friday May 17th. The Scholarship Awards will be granted on Friday May 24th at 6:00pm. Go Seniors!
