Dear Members,
One of the greatest gifts we can give a child is the opportunity to simply be a child again.
Last Thursday, I spoke with Aiko from SAFE Family Justice Centers regarding this year’s Camp HOPE, a special summer camp designed for children who have experienced abuse, neglect, or other traumatic circumstances within Riverside County. I was thrilled to learn that 54 children have been approved to attend Camp HOPE this year, giving them a chance to experience joy, friendship, healing, and hope in a safe and nurturing environment.
While this is wonderful news, there is also a heartbreaking reality. There are still children on a waiting list who have endured difficult circumstances and are hoping for the opportunity to attend.
We have the chance to make a difference.
SAFE is requesting donations of camp supplies to help prepare for the children arriving the week of June 15th. A linked Amazon Wish List has been provided for ideas, but please know that items do not need to be purchased through Amazon. Any donated items that meet the needs of the camp are greatly appreciated.
I will gladly transport all donated camp items to SAFE following our General Meeting this Thursday.
As women who have always stepped forward to support those in need, I know our members understand the power of kindness. A simple donation can help a child feel valued, cared for, and excited about a week that may become one of their happiest memories.
Thank you for your continued generosity and for helping bring hope to children who need it most.
With gratitude,
Dianne Johnson
